Oops! I forgot to wear green today! I also forgot to send the rant to Spiderman yesterday. I got all caught up in Killer's auction and just plain forgot. By the way, it sold for $770.00 and the dude is coming up from Austin Saturday morning to get it. He says he’s going to get it operational, paint it orange, and give it to his daughter to drive. More power to you buddy! I had a thought this morning while surfing e-Bay. I bought that HEI distributor back when we were looking at the Rover V8 for Barbecue Bob. I called John to ask if it was false economy to consider a small block Chevy since I have that. He didn’t think it was, due to the fact that Chevy parts are so plentiful. It is something I'm going to have to think about. Dad will probably do 10,000 RPM in his grave if I put a Chevy engine in a car. But then again, he wasn’t a fan of the whole import thing either. He’s probably already spun a bearing because of all the Datsuns I have had over the years. Pat will taunt me mercilessly as well. Well, nothing is going to happen on that front until George is back up and running though. And once he’s going I'll probably look at the V6 in the Chickenhawk. Once that happens I'll move on to either Barbecue Bob or John's 1200 as the Faux Rally Car with the Chickenhawk's old engine. Then again, I suppose Barbecue Bob could cut in front of the Chickenhawk if it looks like a V8 and five-speed are going to fall into my lap. Oh… your… God! I just remembered that Pierce manifolds had a really bitchin’ quad DCOE manifold for the small block Chevy! Oh man, how ultra cool would that be? I may have to go back to the internot right quick to get the price on that! Oh, I'm getting a chubbie thinking about it! Oh man, oh man, oh man, oh man! The SBC may have a new champion in swaying my opinion. I probably won’t do it at first, just because of the monumental expense, but it will always be on the “to do” list for that car. “So Tim,” folks will say, “why did you choose the Small Block Chevy for this car?” “Well folks,” I will reply, “it was so I could use these ultra bitchin’ badass carburetors on here and not because I already had a HEI distributor.” I smell a bullshit history of the car coming on as well! Let me work on it some, I'll get back to you with that. Yeah, I'm going back to the internot for a while. I'll talk to y’all later. Well, I'm back. I also forgot that the Pierce Manifolds web site doesn’t include prices. Juan has to call them. I didn’t call them. The quad DCOE setup is really cool though. But then again, so is the adapter hoozis they have that adapts two DCOE carburetors to a single four-barrel manifold. They did have a price listed for that, $115.00 each. I almost, but didn’t quite, order one. Like I said, I didn’t call them. I can hardly believe that I'm not going to have Killer any more after tomorrow. It is the end of an era, sort of. I need to get Mr. Wiggly serviced up and back on the road. Here’s why, if I find a V8 near here, I'm not going to want to haul it in the back of the Pimpmobile. I also don’t want to have to drag the trailer somewhere just to grab something “small” like that. I'd like to have the ability to throw mangy stuff like that in the back of something and drag it home. Hell, that’s why I bought Killer in the first place, and Mr. Wiggly in the second. I think I'm going to call Robert and see if he’s willing to take on the Mr. Wiggly project. It really shouldn’t need much. The wheels are locked up, but that’s probably the parking brake mechanism. It has sat for several years so the fuel will most likely need to be drained and replaced. New plugs, wires, cap, rotor, points, and condenser would be in order. I'll bet the carburetor is pretty nasty and could use a good going-through. The thing that parked the vehicle is the charging system. Well, I just got off the phone with Robert. He wants me to have Mr. Wiggly towed to him on Monday and he’ll get cracking on it. I think it is the right way to go. Thing is, I'm not sure how I'm going to have it picked up. I suppose I could arrange to meet the truck in the late afternoon. Yeah, unless I can get someone else to baby sit the deal, I'll arrange for it to happen after two or three in the afternoon so I can be there. Well, I need to go pee and it is about lunchtime. I think I'll shut it down for a bit.
