Happy birthday Linda. That would be my sister by the way. She doesn’t read this either but still… So, I've been running around all day and my dogs are barking! I haven’t had a moment to sit down and talk to y’all all day. I'd go into it but 1) I don’t want to and B) y’all don’t really care. So John and I were talking about stuff and things and stuff last night and it looks like he’s keeping the car we went to Houston for last weekend. He’s in a quandary about the one we got a few weeks earlier but I think he’s going to keep it as well. The one concern I have is what is he going to do with all of this stuff if an anvil were to fall on my head or something and he loses the DLR shop? We discussed that eventuality a bit as well but it spiraled down into a discussion of where my ashes could be hidden in one of my 1200s when they have to sell them off. We discussed my cars some as well but came to no real decisions on anything. Oh, remember how I said the cylinder head for the Slant Six weighed 67 pounds? Well, that was how much the shipping cost, the weight was 80 pounds! I have some serious buyers remorse on that purchase. Oh well, what are you going to do? I stopped to visit Mr. Wiggly last night out of the way to the shop. Robert has the doghouse off and there isn’t a whole lot to that engine. There also isn’t a whole lot in the way of working on stuff on that engine. I think, and o know I've said this before, if the stock carburetor will work for the next few weeks or months I'll just plan to run with it for a while and install the header and carburetor at DLR later. Robert was going to take a good look at the fuel system today and let me know. I also had a look at the throttle linkage situation and I think I have it fingered out as well. I installed a multi-hole arm on the carburetor and found a rod with the ball thingies on each end for it. I can work the carburetor from under the table now! Anyhoo, I think some combination of those bits can be made to work, I hope. Well, I was on a roll just then but it seems to have petered out. I think I'm going to give up on saying anything more today and call the rant done. I'm off tomorrow so don’t look for anything again until Monday. No, come on back and check now that I think about it because I might have something to say in the next few days. Toodles.
