Grrrrrrrrr! Roger can be such a flake! Ok, so here’s what happened. First of all, I had shown pictures of the Seven to a lady in HR a few weeks back and promised her a ride next time I drove it to work. We agreed yesterday morning to do it “after work.” Around 1630 I headed to her desk to see if she was free or if we could reschedule. She was free so we went for a hoon. She liked it. I had also said I'd let her drive it but I was out of time and she actually needed to finish up some work as well. I had run into Roger and found out the BMW he wants to store at my place is at the BMW shop up here by the railroad. I formulated the following plan. We would both ride in the Seven to get the car then he would follow me to my shop and I'd bring him back to the office in the Pimpmobile. It was a perfect plan. The only thing wrong was it involved Roger being prepared. He wasn’t. When we started to get in the Seven to get the car he announced that the battery was dead in the BMW and that we’d have to take it to get it replaced. I started closing up the Seven right then and there. So, as usual, an excursion that should only take a couple hours is now going to be an all-evening event. We get in his rental car and head for the BMW shop. There he has to talk to the folks for a while and then get the battery out of the car. He loads it into the rental and talks to the folks some more. We head for the auto parts store and they say it is going to be an hour before they can test it because it needs to charge first. We decide to wait on the car shuffle for Thursday and head back to the BMW shop. He talks to the folks again for a while and we finally leave there. We go try an oriental food place that John recommended on the recommendation of someone else. It wasn’t all that good by the way. Now, I must grant the following, it was recommended based on the sushi, which for some reason I did not order. I'll give them another shot some other time. From there we went back to the office and I took the Seven home. I decided to not go all the way to the shop because I wanted to catch Two and a Half Men at 2000 on CBS. It wasn’t on until 2015 or so but that’s all right. I drove the Seven to work yet again today. If I drive it again tomorrow I could just take it back to the shop then and not have to make a special trip tonight. We’ll see. Either way I'll need the Pimpmobile on Thursday for the BMW shuffle. Oh, at some point while driving around with Roger, I saw George driving a truck and trailer. I called him and got the update on his life. He’s driving the truck and trailer of a LeMans Prototype team or some such. He was just returning from, aw hell, I don’t remember where. I wasn’t really listening actually. I let him rant and rave for a while and then had to let him go when we got to the restaurant. If I had been with anyone but Roger, or he hadn’t screwed up the whole car shuffle situation with lack of preparedness, I might have felt worse about talking on the phone for so long. He did kind of deserve it though. Well, I'm supposed to meet some folks somewhere at 0900 and I have no idea where it is. I guess I'd better shut up for now and get to work. Later.
