We did go to the shop last night. Neither of us was in a car working, much less a shop-cleaning mood, so nothing got done. Well, that’s not entirely true. We did disassemble some of the bits from the steering rack John is going to use in his blue 510 and played with some cross member ideas. We discussed a few of my projects and he shot down all of my new ideas. All of my projects will go ahead as planned. We discussed how a five-speed swap in the Pimpmobile would be economically unfeasible. We glossed over a Viper V10 and six-speed swap in the Pimpmobile for much the same reason. It was decided that if it doesn’t sell on e-Bay, I would either try to sell it at Car Max or just suck it up and keep driving it for a while. Pat's Subaru was mentioned and may be used for transportation while the five-speed swap is performed on Maxine. I just got off the phone with Pat. He’s going to Colorado this weekend and may be coming back with a Mazda pickup. If so, I think I'm going to buy his Subaru. He also told me that he’s getting Dr. Don’s Volvo somehow. He wants to drag it to Beenbroke and get it running. He made it sound like the good doctor may be getting out of the car thing soon. I may have to make an offer on the Westfield Lotus Eleven clone he has sitting there. I'd like to make a replica of the Lotus Valiant I've read about. It is basically a Lotus Eleven with a Slant Six Dodge engine. I probably wouldn’t do that though. I'd probably build it with a Datsun engine. I suppose a rotary would be a good engine for an Eleven. That would be kind of cool. Yeah, a rotary Eleven, I like it. Of course, I need to talk to Don first. We’ll see. So I'm sitting here waiting for a job offer letter to arrive along with the paperwork I need to fill out. I think I'm working for free this week. Well, I guess it serves me right. It’s not like I work all that hard most of the time. Then again, I was here at 0700 this morning and I was triple-booked yesterday at 1115 with meetings. The Asian Festival thing last Thursday was a lot like work too. I'm not complaining because I know when I've got a good thing going. Anyhoo, I seem to be rambling on about nothing, and not in the good way where I'm rambling about cars. I think I'll close this down for a bit. I'll probably not be back anymore today either.
