I stopped by to visit Mr. Wiggly last night. Robert was working on the carburetor and gas tank when I pulled up. I watched as he disassembled the carburetor and dropped the parts in the carburetor cleaner bucket. Everything smells like carburetor cleaner now. He was also in the middle of installing a new fuel level sending unit and gauge for me since the stock one didn’t work anymore. He’s looking at having it done this week! Huzzah! I can hardly wait. I don’t know if I'm going to plan on doing a CV joint job on the Patty Wagon this weekend or not. I guess I could go ahead and buy the axles and have them on hand for when I do decide to do it, or have it done. Then again, I could do like I said yesterday and just take it to someone straight away. It doesn’t seem like it is going to be that big a deal. The toughest part will probably be getting motivated to do it. I don’t know, we’ll see. I can’t decide if this week is going by fast or slow. There are times when I think, “Wow, it’s already Wednesday.” Then again, there are times when I'm saying, “Man, it’s only Wednesday.” I wonder what will happen to the George project if it gets moved out to do the axles on the Patty Wagon. Theoretically, it could be an in and out job, barring any misfortunes. Perhaps it would motivate me to finish if I move the thing. Yeah, and how would it do that? I don’t know. Oh, speaking of the Patty Wagon, I told you yesterday that I priced a stereo system on Crutchfield, right? Well, I went back and tried to replicate those parts at Summit because I have that Summit credit card. Yeah, I had no luck with that. I found speakers that I could just click on and add to my shopping cart, but all of the head units had “call to order” in the spot where it usually has the “add to cart” button. I didn’t feel like calling so I emptied the cart and moved on to other stuff. I cruised around e-Bay for a bit and found a Mercedes sedan that was pretty cool. It had dual Weber down draft carburetors on the straight six and the guy had converted it to a four-speed Manuel. The opening bid was $100.00 and it had no reserve. The bad news, it is in Long Beach, California. I'm not sure how far that is, but I don’t want to drive back in an unknown car. Oh yeah, speaking of Manuel, the guy with the Manuel pedal assembly for Maxine got in touch with me again today. I sent him the money and hopefully the pedals will be on their way to me soon. I'll call Mr. Ullom when they arrive to see if he’s interested in doing a five-speed swap, like I have any doubt. So, I guess that about wraps up all I have to say today. Talk to y’all tomorrow.
