I'm just killing a little time while I wait for a phone call. I suppose I could go ahead and go to lunch but I think I'll sit here instead. What to say, what to say? Oh, I know! My springs arrived last night! I'm looking forward to getting Matilda lowered. Well, I mean I'm looking forward to it being lower, John and I will probably do the work. My plan at the moment is to go to the shop in the morning and put the Cragar wheels back on George so he can roll outside. Then I'll put Matilda on stands and get cracking on the spring swap. If, for some reason, I can’t get it finished I can drive Mr. Wiggly home and finish up on Sunday. If, for some reason, I can’t finish on Sunday, I can drive Mr. Wiggly to work next week. I know, what could possibly screw me that bad? There’s just no way of knowing. We’ll see. The worst part of taking Mr. Wiggly to work will be sweating my ass off on the way home. That would motivate me to finish up Matilda. Oh wait, I still have the Pimpmobile that I could drive to work next week if need be. THAT would motivate me to finish up Matilda! Don’t get me wrong; I don’t hate the Pimpmobile. I just don’t like driving it as much as I like driving Matilda. Speaking of Matilda, my license plates came in yesterday. I'd tell you the number, but I'm really not that dumb. I did something that is going to annoy John and me, and probably Pat and Ray as well, for the next two years. I put the license sticker on aligned with the inspection sticker. Now, that sounds like a good idea, and it would have been, if the inspection sticker hadn’t been crooked. It is a two-year sticker too, so I'm stuck until this time in 2008! Well, the dude who is supposed to call me is going to call my cell so I guess I can go ahead and go to lunch. I think I'll do that. I may be back later. Ok, so I've been to lunch and handled the phone calls. I think I'm free to talk for a bit. Too bad I don’t have anything to say. Ok, I've been thinking about the springs in Matilda. If Nissan has stayed consistent in their manufacturing practices since the days of the 1200, then the brake lines won’t be attached to the struts and I won’t have to open them. If, on the other hand, they went back to the manufacturing practices of the days of the 1200, the line will be attached to the strut and I'll be screwed. You know, you’d think I would have looked at that when I had the wheels off at the Boys of Pep the other day. Come to think of it, I believe I did look. Of course I don’t remember whether or not I'm screwed. Well, we’ll see in the morning I guess. I went back to that site on e-Bay selling 17” bronze-colored wheels for Matilda. They now have listed some 16” and 18” wheels as well. The 16s were like $499.00 and the 18s were like $699.00 with the 17s splitting the difference at $599.00 for four wheels and tires. I'd like to do it but I'm afeared I'm going to have to wait until the Pimpmobile is long gone. I was trying to think where my last paycheck went and then I remembered that I was counting on the sale of the Pimpmobile to make the payment on the 15th. Since I'm still sitting on the car I had to make a payment out of my own pocket. Perhaps I need to look into Car Max or something to get out from under that Albatross. Maybe if I get done with Matilda early enough tomorrow I can go get the Pimpmobile appraised and possibly sold. Although, I'm in no hurry until the 15th of next month, I guess. It would be nice to get it over with though. I don’t know. Another thing I'd like to look at this weekend is the installation of the quad-gauge in Mr. Wiggly. I don’t think it is going to be that big a deal to install it. Since the oil pressure warning light doesn’t work, I'll just replace that sender with the one for the gauge. Finding a place to tap for water temperature might be more problematic though. We’ll see. Of course volts are the easiest because all it needs is a switched source and it might be internally wired along with the other gauges. I guess a look at the instructions would answer most of those questions. Well, I think I'm just about out of stuff for this week. I'll have more for you on Monday. Have a weekend.
