I've been thinking about painting the Seven. I think I want a bit more flash! The black on silver just isn’t popping the way I want it to. I've been looking at the pictures of the various events but haven’t been able to get my mind around what color I'd like. Bernie’s car with the red fenders and nose looks good, but there are already two like that around. I'm wondering how a metallic purple would look. Perhaps the shiny aluminum is what I'm having the most trouble with. I do like the look of the painted cars. The BRG with yellow combination is a classic look. Then again, it is a classic look and therefore done to death. I like the solid yellow cars as well. I don’t know. Perhaps I'll discuss it with the crew and take a poll of their opinions. I'll probably ask the Birkin owners mailing list as well and see what they have to say on the issue. I suppose I could consider a metallic green to match the “Do it in a Datsun” license plate frame. I like a bright metallic green color on cars. Not a metal flake though. Now the question becomes, do I remove the mirrors and roll hoop to paint them again or do I leave them hammer tone gray? If I just removed the four fenders and the nose cone and took them to a paint shop, it shouldn’t be too expensive. Oh, what about the wheels? Should I leave them flat black or paint them hammer tone? We were planning to do them at one time but stopped when they looked so good in flat black. Ok, if I do decide to paint it, here’s what will happen. First I'll have the nose and fenders done by someone. Ok, so that someone might be John or Gregg because I'm not 100% decided between “in house” versus “professional.” We’ll paint the wheels hammer tone to match the mirrors and roll hoop. I'll consider, if the rest of the gang agrees, having the hood and scuttle painted as well. The lower panels and all around the back of the car will remain “polished” aluminum. I used quotes because we all know I'm never going to polish the thing again. I'm far too lazy for that. Well, it is lunchtime. I'm off to eat. Toodles. And I'm back. I spoke to a dude who saw me driving Matilda this morning. He might be interested in the Pimpmobile. I just sent him some pictures and a description of the car. We’ll see what comes of it. It really is too bad that the slush box transmission kills that car for me. It really is a bitchin’ ride. Every time I relate what all I have in it I remember how cool it is. It is a cruiser though and I like my cars to be drivers. It does cruise well though. It will flat lay down the highway miles without beating you down. I'm not sure Matilda is going to be that way on a long trip. Oh wait, I hate taking trips! Well then, I guess Matilda is the right choice, as if there were any question. I wonder, speaking of making choices and Matilda, if John has any news about the tacoed wheel. I guess I could ask him. Oh, there I go. I just did! He’s in the process of moving so stuff is a bit hectic in his world right about now. I'm just cruising along staying out of the way. I did offer to let him use Mr. Wiggly this weekend to move his stuff. Did I mention that yesterday? Anyhoo, we’re going to go to the shop Thursday to rewire that gauge and get it ready for him. I know I mentioned that yesterday. I guess I really should volunteer to help with the move since that will also get me out of the trip to Not Texas for the fix-up. Remember, the lesbian who wants me to meet her straight friends at the lake house? I haven’t heard from her so it is possible she’s forgotten as well. We’ll see. Ok, I'm bored with this. I think I'll go to the internot and send this off to Spiderman. Have a day.
