I noticed another typo in my thing the other day. It should have said, “Butt dyno data say…” rather than, “Butt dyno data says…” since “data” is plural. [ Would it not then be datum? - SM ] It bothered me enough to mention it here, but not so much that I'm going to go off on a rant. Well, Juan might consider this a rant about it, but it really isn’t. Ok, so it kind of is but can we move on now? I bought a pair of stickers for Mr. Wiggly that say, “Yeah, it’s got a Slant Six!” I thought it was kind of funny when I first read it but it is kind of, I don’t know, becoming passé. Kind of like how “The Beatles” was a funny name for a band or “The Beverly Hillbillies” was a friggin’ hilarious name for a show until they were used so much that they lost all humor. Come on; think about that name, “The Beverly Hillbillies.” Forget the show and just think about the title. That is the most friggin’ clever title EVER! Hmm, I seem to have gotten off track there for a bit. What I was trying to say was the play on “Yeah, it’s got a Hemi” thing was funny the first time I read it and I hope it translates well to others. We’ll see. I also have a bid in on an aluminum two-barrel manifold for the Slant Six in Mr. Wiggly. I'm thinking that since I'll have to take the intake manifold off when installing the header, I might as well replace the cast-iron one-barrel manifold with a lighter two-barrel guy at the same time. If I lose the auction, which won’t surprise me, I'll go with the adapter I already have on the cast-iron one-barrel manifold. Well, it is lunchtime and I have to go pee. I'll talk to y’all later. I'm back. I was thinking about it and I'm kind of hoping I lose the auction for the two-barrel manifold. I think the venturi effect created in that two-barrel to one-barrel adapter should help with torque. Besides, I have it. The added lightness of the aluminum manifold isn’t really going to make that much difference in the grand scheme of things anyway. Besides, I'll be able to weld up the EGR ports and any other superfluous vacuum leaks in that cast-iron manifold. I still can’t weld aluminum. I need to finger out a way to convert that thing to a cable throttle. I think I'm going to lose all of the linkage mounting points when I convert to the header. I like a cable better anyway. Speaking of cables, I really need to make the parking brake mechanism work. Right now I'm parking the thing in gear and hoping for the best. Feh, we’ll see what happens. Well, I'm bored with this right now. I think I'm going to stop. Beverly Hillbillies!
