I drove the Seven to work today. I like the full windshield. I don’t know why I let John and Pat talk me into the Brookland screens in the first place. [ That better be sarcasm... - SM ]Oh well, live and learn. I haven’t received the wiper yet but I'm expecting it today. I went ahead and ordered two Smithy’s mufflers and some Hugh bends to build the zorst for Mr. Wiggly. Oh, I did win the auction for the aluminum manifold as well. So, here’s what I have in mind. Unless he thinks we can knock it out quickly, John needs to kick me in the ass every time I try to work on Mr. Wiggly until George is up and running. I need to “finish” that project up and get it out of the way. Even saying it is beating me down. I really want to move on to the next project. Damn it! I'm so flighty. Ok, so George needs to be finished. I think that with the weather cooling off a bit we can get that done. Then again, the intake, header, and zorst on Mr. Wiggly shouldn’t be that big of a project. One or two weekends, I'd think. Having it out of the way would, or should I say could, cause me to focus more clearly on finishing George. I'm too close to the trees to see the forest, I guess. I need a cooler head to slap me into some perspective. We’ll see. I got a call from Dick Brink last night asking if I was a member of the Motorsport Ranch. Apparently he and Bernie didn’t take into account the fact that each member can only bring one guest in to run on the track when they planned this weekend’s activities. It doesn’t look good for me getting on the track after all. I'm not going to lose any sleep over that fact though because I'm having just the right amount of fun hooning the thing on the street. Which is not to say I drive “balls out” everywhere I go in the thing. I just enjoy some spirited driving on twisty roads. For that matter, I enjoy it on non-twisty roads as well. I am noticing that I have a distinct “old car smell” floating about me from the drive in though. Perhaps my nasal passages are saturated with gas smell and I do not really smell what I think I smell. Anyhoo, I need to call Dick again to tell him what I found out from Ray. Oh, Dick asked if I'd ask Ray if it were possible to for him to get me on track without his actually being there. He cannot. So, if I'm to get out there we’ll need to come to another arrangement. I guess I'll call Dick. I'll let you know what we come up with. No answer. I left a message for him to call me back so we’ll just have to wait and see. John just called to see what I wanted for lunch today. I've got half an hour before he’s going to be here, but I really have to go pee. I think I'll take off and find some way too waste half an hour. I was successful. I'm now back from lunch and am goofing off until quitting time. I think I'm going to go to the Motorsport Ranch website and see just exactly how much a membership costs. I'm sure there is no way in hell I can afford it, but I won’t know until I look. I've actually been to the internot once since lunch and ordered a K&N panel filter for Matilda. John and I took some measurements of the stock filter the other day and I compared them to panel filters for various cars. I think the replacement filter for a Vauxhall Nova will work. That is what I ordered at least. We’ll see in a week or so. If it does fit, I may buy a few then go to e-Bay and offer them for sale through Dimlight Racing. Then again, I might not. I still need to go to he dealership and see if there is a way to defeat the TPMS so I don’t have to swap valve stems. I won’t be surprised either way though. I still haven’t heard back from Dick about the track thing tomorrow either. Oh right, that was why I was going to the Motorsport Ranch website, duh. I predict that I'm going to be a ‘tater at the track tomorrow. We’ll see. I asked John what he thought about letting Mr. Wiggly cut in front of George right quick so we could install the intake, header, and zorst. I don’t think we came to any conclusion though. I imagine we’ll go ahead and do Mr. Wiggly since I think we can talk ourselves into it being a quick and dirty deal. John asked why I would need to take it inside to do the work and I said crawling under to build the zorst would be easier. I suppose the whole job could be done out back. We’ll see. Well, I think I've just about said all I have to say about stuff. I think I'm going to call it a week and head for the internot again. Have a day.
