11/3/06

I'm dumb. I was on the Summit website earlier, just window shopping, when I found the cam kit that is dyno matched to the Edelbrock Torker II intake I have for Barbecue Bob. I dropped one in my shopping cart. I looked at the “Recommended Parts” tab on that page and saw that they want me to use some new valve springs with a new cam. “Well, that makes sense,” I thought, and dropped a set in the cart. I figured as long as I'm replacing the cam and stuff I might as well look at a timing set too. I found a Summit brand gear drive and dropped it in the cart. The noisy/quiet aspect was moot because the cheapest set they had was the noisy one. Besides, it is the gear drive I want, the noise is secondary. I looked around at other things but decided I'd better have the actual engine in hand before buying much more and stopped. I sat with the pointer hovering over the “Checkout” button for a few minutes while I thought it over. I clicked it. I filled out all of the information and sat with the pointer hovering over the “Complete Transaction” button while I thought it over some more. “Aw hell!” I thought, “It’s only money.” I clicked it. The cam kit and springs should be here Monday and the gear-drive not too long after that. It was coming from a different warehouse you see. So, I think I'm going to plan for Barbecue Bob to be next in line after George. My apologies to the Chickenhawk and all of his supporters, but this will be a “quicker” project to complete, I hope. Well, I've got to go pee. I may be back. Wow, the screen saver didn’t even start up. 256 paces, including 50 stairs, down to the bathroom, a pee, and 256 paces, including the same 50 stairs, back up to my office in less time than it takes for my screen saver to come on. Interesting. Ok, so maybe it isn’t interesting. Mundane. Yes, that’s more like it. Well, I'm just about out of stuff to talk about. I think I'm going to call it a week. Talk to y'all again Monday.
