I would have sworn that I didn’t use the term “going to town” yesterday in the rant. I was all ready to accuse Spiderman of editing for content by adding it. I stand corrected however since it is right there on my own hard drive in the archive. I honestly do not remember saying it. I know, this is a pretty lame excuse for an entry but what is worse, me writing it or you reading it? I thought so. Well anyhoo, I obviously don’t have anything to say today. I mentioned the replica mock-up block and John pointed out that an empty SBC block isn’t too heavy. The problem is, it gets kind of heavy when you add the cast iron heads. I'm not buying a set of aluminum heads just for mock-up porpoises. I'd love to have aluminum heads on it, but I'm going to settle for the iron ones I have. I'll probably just suck it up and do my fabrication work on the actual engine like I did on Chickenhawk Mk I. I know I've told that story before but here is the short version. I had the A-12 out of the Pre-Chickenhawk, which sat, in front of the shop. When it was finally decided that the Z-20 from the maroon HL-A10 (1980 510) was going in there, I yanked it out of one car and dropped it in the other in one fell swoop. It never got set down or anything, out of one and into the other. Bada bing, bada bang, bada boom. Ok, so this project won’t be quite that easy. I do know the intake and exhaust manifolds need to be changed. I'm going to do a cam swap as well. The thing isn’t very dirty but I'll still probably drag it to the car wash on the trailer before going too far with it. Ok, no I won’t, but I did at least think about it. Ok, it is rapidly approaching lunchtime. I think I'll shut it down for a bit. I'm back. And I'm leaving again. And I'm back again. I realized I had nothing to say last time so I didn’t even bother. Of course now I have nothing to say still but I thought I'd better ‘splain. Ok, since that is out of the way I guess I'll move on. Hmm, still have nothing to say. Well, I guess I'm going to stop then. I'll shoost this off to Spiderman and call it a day. Yes, that is what I'm going to do.
