Well, the thot plickens. The white Versa they were supposed to have for us yesterday fell through. John vetoed the red car as well so it was beginning to look like we were totally out on the Nissan end of the deal. We decided that we’d take the Pimpmobile to the Toyota dealer and have it appraised to see what we could get. I got mom to concede that the Yaris wasn’t so bad after all and agree that I could go that way if I really wanted to. John reconsidered a Scion xB as a possible alternative as well. We were all set to go in and deal with Toyota. The Nissan sales dude called me to see what was the poop. I told him I was totally out on a red Versa and I was pretty sure John was unwilling to pay the gap to get a red one. I said if he could find any color but red in a six-speed I'd buy it. I didn’t tell him we were looking at Toyota again though. He called John this morning to see what was up with him and when John began to back out it lit a fire under our boy to find us what we wanted. He found a few in Oklahoma and has promised a white six-speed will be on the lot tomorrow. I'm holding my breath. Now, if optioned similarly to mine, I'd rather John be in the white car. I'm just not sure about it for me. If he’d found a black one I'd be all over it though! Anyhoo, I guess if the white car comes in as a non-power stripper model, a Vice-Versa if you will, I'll settle for white. We’ll see. Oh, I won one auction for the headlights but lost the other, go figure. I sent the dude an e-mail saying that one really did me little good without the other but that I'd go ahead and honor my commitment to buy it. He shot back that he did have another matching set and that if I were willing to pay my max bid he’d send it as well. I agreed so I should have a pair of Versa headlights on the way soon. Let’s hope I still have a Versa when they get here! I've been shopping for Yaris bits and have found quite a selection of stuff available. I'm still thinking that I'd almost rather have the hoon I know over an unknown hoon factor, but that Yaris sure is cute and the strong aftermarket helps. Oh, I have found that AEM is about to release a cold air kit for the Versa and there is a set of front and rear strut tower braces available. I'll buy one of each of those soon I still have Matilda, or Matilda II as the case may be. Actually, the only reason I'd be in the white Versa is if it is a non-power car. At which point it will be christened the Vice-Versa. I've been thinking about the Vice-Versa and I think on a light color, like white or silver, I'd go with the chrome Altezza style taillights. We’ll have a spare set of headlight housings for John to disassemble and paint either black or body color, at which time I'd probably opt for a set of black Altezza style taillights to either install as is or disassemble and paint blue. Now that I think about it, I wonder how black headlights and taillights would look on a white Versa. With nice dark window tint it might not be too bad. If I went with black wheels as well I'd have the makings of a Panda. Perhaps that would become its name! I'm liking the idea of a white Versa more and more. Yeah, The Panda, I like it. Of course as soon as I get all excited about this, they will sell that car out from under us as well. Well, I just spoke to the sales dude, with the rather unlikely name of Bo Machos by the way, and found out it is in fact a Vice-Versa. So it looks like I'm going to be in a panda soon. Ok, I'm warming to it. In fact, with it being a stripper it should come in a touch lighter than the blue car. Yeah, I'm going to hang my hat on that nail. I'll follow Colin Chapman’s advice and go as light as possible. Yeah, I might even have to go for the really lightweight wheels when that time comes. Sure, a panda, I'm there now. Sweet! Well, I think I'm off to the internot to look at black wheels for my panda. Tire Rack, here I come!
