1/11/07

I forgot to send this to Spiderman yesterday so I'm just going to tack today onto the bottom of yesterday. It might screw up the date format, unless John takes it upon himself to fix it, which I couldn’t care less either way. Anyhoo, here’s what happened last night, John and I met at the magazine rack of the Barnes and Noble, or whatever that bookstore downtown is called, and then headed back to the Pimpmobile parked in the garage. We headed to the Toyota dealer so they could appraise it and give us a quote on the Yaris deal. To make a short story long, Toyota is out of the picture with regards to this transaction. They came back and said they’d need another $1,200.00 to cover the gap on the “value” of the Pimpmobile and the price of the Yaris. A little quick math told me that they were essentially offering me $11,000.00 for my car. A car I knew damned well would show up on their lot tomorrow with a sticker of $18,000.00 at least. I didn’t laugh in their faces and John even went so far as to get those numbers in writing as if we might consider it. We left and I told John that if the Nissan dealer dinks us around again on this white car that is supposedly rolling into the lot right about now, he’s going to have to sell the Pimpmobile to one of the dudes he has on the hook and we’ll move on from there. See, he has a couple guys hemming and hawing at $17,000.00 but thinks they’d go for $15k. I'm just ready to be done with that car and get one loan off my plate. I'm resisting the temptation to call the Nissan dealer and see if it is there yet. Oh, I was wrong about the crank windows being a deal breaker for John. He was under the impression that white was a deal breaker for me. We were both thinking that the other didn’t want it and had made our plans around it. When we last spoke, the plan was for me to keep Matilda and John will buy the Panda. Of course I might fall in love with the white car when we see it and insist on the other way around. I don’t think it would take much persuasion to get John to go for the pre-modified car. Then again, Matilda is pre-modified and I wouldn’t have to drop a ton of money again to get what I have now. I'm going to really have to love the white car for that to happen, I guess. Oh, I had another thought. While we’re at the Nissan dealer tonight, I'm going to buy that cold air kit for a Sentra and see what it is going to take to make it work on the Versa. I'm also thinking about taking one of those Smithy’s mufflers we removed from Mr. Wiggly to Steve/John and see if it will fit in place of the center muffler on Matilda. I need just a touch more rort and we can always take mom’s car when she and I need to go somewhere. John is probably going to hate this idea but I'm also thinking about some of those angled DTM tips poking up from under the bumper. I might not, and probably won’t, but I'm considering it. Actually, that idea just popped into my head and I haven’t really given it a whole bunch of thought yet. We’ll see. I did see a white Honduh hatch thingy with black wheels earlier and it looked so good. I'm gong to be jealous of John's Panda. Well, if he does it in the panda style you know. He might go an altogether different direction, one I won’t like. Well, I'll probably like it but I won’t be jealous of it. I went in and deleted all of the auctions for Yaris parts I had been watching now that I'm probably not going to be buying one. But then again, if John sells the Pimpmobile and wants Matilda more than a Scion xB, I wouldn’t have a problem walking in and plunking down cash for a black five-speed Yaris. I'd buy it from the chick I had dealt with before though rather than Biff and Skippy, the two goobers from last night. $11,000.00 for the Pimpmobile, please! What a couple of douche bags. Now don’t get me wrong, I knew there was no way in hell they were going to cut me a check, but I did at least believe the thing was going to appraise at the same value, which in and of itself is an insult but we won’t go there. No, unless the Nissan dealer queers the deal, John and I should soon be Versa buddies. We’ll have to start a racing team or something. No, probably not. Well, have a day.
