I've been marching around all morning singing, “Ding-dong, Pimp-MO-bile’s gone. Which-mobile? The Pimpmobile! Ding-dong, the Pimpmobile is gone!” to the tune of “The Wicked Witch is Dead” from “The Wizard of Oz.” Yes you guessed it; we traded the Pimpmobile finally. The white Versa was on the lot when we arrived and it was a white non-power car. The issue of me falling in love with it was moo as soon as I saw the tan interior. I could have lived with it, but Matilda's black interior looks so much better to me. I tried to get to the parts department before they closed to see about that Sentra cold air kit but missed them by just a few minutes. John talked to the accessory dude about converting to power windows but shot it down when it turned out to be non-Nissan parts. We went into the finance dude’s office and signed all of the paperwork then stood in the parking lot for a bit looking at the two cars and discussing wheels. I think we decided that John was going to buy me some different wheels and I'd give him the Volks back. Either that or we were going to disassemble the Volks and paint them black. Here’s my new thinking, if I stay with silver wheels I may go with chrome Altezza taillights and leave my headlights alone. That would be the cheapest and easiest way to go. We could always go back later and disassemble and paint them body color. If I paint the Volks or get a different set of wheels in black I'll get a set of black Altezza taillights and paint the headlights black to match. Again, we can go back later and make them body color. I think the black and blue look will look pretty toight, like a toiger, on that car. Then again, so would goooooooooooooooooold! That is, gold wheels with blacked out or body colored lights. Splitting the difference, I suppose, would be bronze wheels which would also be bitchin’. No, I think the image of the Panda has me wanting to do all black. The next question would be do I black out any existing chrome trim? All I can remember being left is a single strip across the grille and the Nissan and Versa badges. By the way, I am also considering replacing those with Renault Clio badges. I wonder if I could get a Renault Clio steering wheel for it. Too bad I hate the French so much. It would still be kind of cool, I guess. I'm fairly certain John wants to do Tiida badges for his car. I'd do it too but we’d have to do it at the same time or one will be “copying” the other. That is, if we both went with Tiida badges of course. I'm digging the idea of doing a Clio. I can see it now, “Hey, you guys drive the same car!” “No, mine is a Nissan Tiida where his is a Renault Clio.” “Yeah, they’re totally different, douche bag!” and the victim runs off sobbing at the utter humiliation he suffered at our hands. Aaaaand scene! Thank you, thank you. This production of Pretentious Jerk Theatre was brought to you by: Glagnar’s Human Rinds, “They’re a munch a bunch a crunchy human!” and Slurm, “It’s highly addictive!” and Thompson’s Teeth, “The only teeth strong enough to eat other teeth.” and Bachelor Chow, “Now with flavor!” I love “Futurama.” That was a really good show. Anyhoo, I guess now that we’re through with all of the wheeling and dealing on getting rid of the Pimpmobile, I can go back to talking about Datsuns. [ We may be talking about a Maxima soon... - SM ] Um, so, like, hmm, I don’t seem to have anything to say about Datsuns right now. Did I mention the Pimpmobile is gone? Ding-dong, Pimp-MO-bile’s gone. Which-mobile? The Pimpmobile! Ding-dong, the Pimpmobile is gone! And on that note, I think I will call it a week.
