I got a phone call from Ray yesterday. He has decided that he’s not a Subaru man and wants the brown 210. We discussed it some and came to a tentative agreement. It was after I hung up with him that I remembered two things. 1) I had promised the A-14 from the brown car to John for his 1200. B) John is about to buy a 210 that he’s not sure he really wants and asked me if I knew of anyone interested in it. I called Ray this morning to tell him about the better car, which John's most certainly is, and said they need to talk. I think I might wind up in the middle of this and own both the brown 210 and the Subaru again pretty soon. We’ll see. I imagine I'm going to wind up buying the Subaru from John by giving up the A-14 from the brown car and some cash. I'll still, probably, have the chassis from the brown 210 to install the VG-30, but we’ll just have to wait and see. Just what I need, two more project cars. [ Easy problem to fix, just don't call the Subaru a project car... - SM ] I'm dumb. Well, it is approaching noon, I have to pee, and I'm hungry. I'll talk to y'all later. And I'm back. Not that I have anything to say, but I am back. Yep, I've been staring at the screen for a few minutes trying to think of something to say and I'm not coming up with anything. I did a little more “fantasy shopping” on e-Bay the other day. This time I was looking at Nash Metropolitans. I've wanted one of those for some time. I think I've even decided I'd rather have one of those than a Mini. I know, it’s crazy talk, but that’s how cool I think they are. Besides, they are correct-wheel-drive. I'd want to find one with a bum engine so I could install a full Datsun drive train in it. I've seen small block Chevys in them before, so Juan would think a VG-30 should fit pretty well. Of course an SR-20DET would be pretty cool too. Aw hell, why not a VG-30DETT? Might as well go whole hog with the Nissan bits, right? No, I think I won’t start down that road just yet. Maybe when some of the existing projects are “done” will I consider it. I guess I could go through the current list of projects right quick. That will kill some time. I'll underline the names when I first mention them so I can look back and do a quick headcount. Matilda is my daily driver. It is a 2007 Nissan Versa with a six-speed. All I plan to do to it is a cold air intake and perhaps a bit more rorty zorst. Cosmetically I plan to put on some Altezza style taillights with matching headlight treatment. What I mean by that is if I stay with chrome headlights I'll do chrome taillights, if I go with black taillights I'll paint the chrome in the headlights black, or I might paint both body color. I'm also thinking about black wheels. The Seven is a Birkin replica of a 1967 Lotus Seven with an A-15 and five speed. I think I'm pretty much finished with hot rodding it but there are a few little items which still need a bit of sorting out. George is a 1973 Datsun 1200 with a turbocharged 1,300 cc A-12 and a five-speed. I'm still deciding on the carburetor for it and I need to finish it up. Mr. Wiggly is a 1976 Dodge Tradesman 100 van with a 225 cubic inch Slant Six and three-on-the-tree transmission. I may change the carburetor from the DGV Weber that is on there now to a single four-barrel or perhaps dual one-barrel carburetors. Dual DGV carburetors are also a consideration. Oh, Mr. Wiggly also has a six-to-two header, a semi-dual Flowmaster zorst, and bitchin’ 15x8 Turbine wheels. Barbecue Bob is a 1974 Datsun 610 into which I'm planning to install a Chevy 350 cubic inch V8 and five-speed transmission. I have most of the parts for that project so once George is “done” I'll get cracking on it. The Chickenhawk is a 1973 Datsun 1200 into which I plan to install a VG-33 V6. I plan to use a five-speed transaxle out of a front-wheel-drive Maxima installed in the rear to make the car mid-engine. I'm also thinking about 300ZX front struts for the bigger brakes and five lug wheels. The question of fuel injection versus carburetor has not been decided as yet. So, before the poo-brown 210 or the Subaru, I count six cars in my stable. There are more but I don’t plan to resurrect any others at this time. Well, speaking of poo, I'm just about finished with the bowl of chili and salad I had for lunch an hour ago. I think I'll call this rant complete for the week and go release a hostage. Y'all have a swell weekend.
