Happy friggin’ New Year. Woo hoo! So, this last weekend was, well, it was typical actually. Saturday morning I met John at the shop. We discussed some stuff and stood around looking at stuff. He had finished making the base plate for George's distributor and had that installed for me. Thank you sir. We played with that for a bit and discussed wide-body 1200s. I lamented the fact that I was down to only two when he mentioned that the Louisiana Purchase was still available from Steve/John at the muffler shop. That got me thinking. I suggested that we go to the muffler shop to have a look at it and I'd have a better zorst built for Mr. Wiggly. We did that. We didn’t come to any real decision about the Louisiana Purchase but the zorst is much better. What we did was take the collectors from the headers and stretch them up to 2.5” and weld on some pipe. These merge into a 3” pipe and go into a single Flowmaster. The Flowmaster has dual 2.5” outlets which continues to the tips in approximately the same spots I had them. It sounded really nice when he fired it up but the collectors leaked. I told him I had gaskets so we left them alone. On the drive home it did sound better but was too loud, does that sound familiar? I didn’t realize it at the time but it was just the collectors leaking, but I'm getting ahead of myself. I drove home because mom and I were supposed to go to my uncle Bill’s house that evening to see all of the cousins. Yawn. She wasn’t there so I went ahead and took Mr. Wiggly back to the shop. I drove home and she called looking for me just as I was turning on to my street. I cleaned up and we went to see the relatives. It was a house full of people I sort of knew and many I didn’t know at all. We stayed about an hour longer than I wanted and finally went home. Sunday I watched “The Thing From Another World” on DVD while waiting for her to get home from church so we could go to my sister’s for my brother-in-law’s birthday. We drove to Granbury and hung out for a bit. Mom and I sat in the kitchen talking to my sister while she cooked stuff for us. Oh, and we ate a whole bunch of stuff as well. Mom announced she was ready to leave and it surprised me because we hadn’t been there all that long. I shrugged and we left. Oh, at some point it was mentioned that a couple from the church, Bill and Beth Hunter, might be moving. They have a really cool house, which I really want to buy now! It was only slightly out of our way home but we didn’t stop. I've been thinking about the place ever since. It is really REALLY cool. I dropped mom off and went to check on Pat's house then went to the shop. I played with the water temperature sender for George but quit when I realized I was still in good pants. I hopped in Mr. Wiggly and headed for the house. On the first turn I remembered that the old zorst was still in the back rolling around but didn’t go back to drop it off. I watched TV until 0100 h and finally went to bed. I wished my cat a happy new year and crashed out. I'm going to save Monday’s story for tomorrow. I have actually already written it out, but I'm rapidly approaching my cutoff point for today. John is thinking about a six-cylinder van with a three-on-the-tree transmission to buy as his daily driver. I'm going to do my best to talk him into it so we can get rid of the Pimpmobile. I'll need that extra money to buy Bill and Beth’s house! Yeah, right. Like I could afford it. Well, I guess I'll chat with y'all tomorrow.
