I have the Dingleberry almost working properly. We set up the A/V requests mailbox to forward all messages to my regular mailbox then setup the redirect feature of the Dingleberry to forward only messages from the A/V box and those with the word “page” in the subject line. I'm not sure if the voicemail people have fixed the other since I haven’t received any voicemail today. I guess I could call and leave a message to test it but I'm too lazy. Well, since I can’t seem to think of anything else to do, I guess I'll call and test that out. Nope, still goes to the old pager. It doesn’t surprise me. Why should anything technological work right? The air card thing for my laptop is still pissing me off. I can sometimes be on for hours and other times it locks up after thirty minutes, not to mention it is actually SLOWER than dial up. Yes, that is right, this ultra super hip new-fangled gizmo, which costs me a bunch of money every month, is slower than the dial up connection I had been using. I'm just about ready to go back to Cingular and offer to insert the thing rectally in the dude who sold it to me. But I won’t because when it does piss me off to that point, I'll just break it. It almost happened this morning but I managed to stop just after yanking it from the machine and throwing it across the desk. To show the laptop it wasn’t going to get off Scot-free, I did a hard shut down and slammed the monitor shut. When I got back from across the street they both seem to have learned their lesson and worked until I got bored with the internot and logged off again. If it weren’t for the few sites I pay bills on, I would ditch the whole internot entirely. John thinks I'd go into e-Bay withdrawal but I don’t even visit there all that often and when I do I just stare at the screen trying to think of anything to put in the search box. I'm bored with talking to y'all right now as well. Maybe I'll come back later and say some more but don’t hold your breath. Ok, I've been to lunch and helped out a few folks so I can justify my goofing off for a little while again. John sent me a link to an article about Subaru’s next Impreza. While I like the idea of a “Hot Hatch” from Fuji Heavy Industries, they really missed the styling boat with the grille and beltline crease. John's two comments were something to the effect of, “Has Subaru lost it?” and “(I’m) Not a fan.” I replied, or at least tried to reply with, “I’ll wait to pass final judgment until I see one in person, but it is a safe bet I won’t be trading Matilda in on the first one off the boat.” We’ll see. So, what other car stuff can I talk about? John and I were talking about changing shop night back to Wednesday again but he sent me a message earlier saying today didn’t look good after all. I'm not sure what I would have worked on anyway so the point is kind of moo. Here’s what we really ought to do next time we’re down there. We should clear out enough space in the paint booth to park the Seven over there. Then we should clear out enough space in the spot vacated by the Seven to use that bay. Then we should roll George into that bay so I can finish it. Oh, I guess we should also take out some trash and do a general shop clean as well while we’re at it but that isn’t too likely. John mentioned one time that someone he knows was going to put web cams in some shops around the area. He said they asked if we wanted one. He politely turned them down. You know, as big a pain in the ass as it would be, I think I want to start thinking about moving the shop. I think I'd like a place in town, either on the west side near where I live or in the near downtown area where Kevin's shop is and Robert's shop used to be. Of course I could still build in Boyd, but that isn’t convenient for anyone unless I move out there, and then it’s only convenient for me. I don’t know. I think if I were ever to move I'd have to “hire” a shop maid to come in every so often and either clean the place or make me do it. Pat has said he’d clean my place but I wouldn’t like what he did with my stuff. Yeah, like he’s less of a pack rat than I am. Well, I think I'm just about talked out for today. Y'all take it easy.
