I got nothing today. I did find out that Spiderman isn’t leaving for Canby until Friday evening so there shouldn’t be any interruption of rant service. Of course that means I need to come up with things to say today and tomorrow. I started to go off on Paris Hilton and her kind but it was pissing me off too much so I deleted it. Too bad we can’t delete her worthless ass. Oh crap, I just realized I forgot to check to see if the place we’re staying at for the Tail of the Dragon event is affiliated with the Hilton brand. It’s too late this time if it is, but from now on I'm refusing to give that cunt any more money by avoiding staying at any Hilton properties. I know my boycott won’t really affect their bottom line, since I stay in hotels maybe three or four nights a year, but it is the principle of the thing. Anyhoo, on to car stuff now. I was looking at e-Bay for Datsun bits and saw a B-210 for sale. It got me thinking about Barbara again. It sure would be nice to have another Datsun on the road. I'm really giving serious thought to allowing Barbara to cut in front of George so I can just get her back on the road. I'm thinking I'll forego the hot rodding until after George is going. I'll limit myself to replacing the hydraulics and making it roadworthy again. I had said something about lowering it while doing the brakes but realized I would have to go back in and raise it to make the rally look I want to go for. We’ll see. I got a notion the other day that I needed to replace the head unit and speakers in Matilda. I haven’t gone to an actual car stereo place to shop yet but I did go to Crutchfield’s web site. I think something along the lines of what I did with the Subaru, and the two Ranger pickups before that, is what I have in mind. I'd replace the head unit and speakers, like I mentioned a moment ago, and add a powered sub woofer as well. I'm torn about head unit features though. I don’t have an MP-3 player so an input for one wouldn’t be a necessity. But if it did have one, I'd probably go ahead and buy an MP-3 thingy. HD radio and/or satellite radio might be worth the effort, I don’t know. The few months I had satellite radio in the Pimpmobile were pretty cool. I really liked that reggae station. Yeah, I'll probably pop for XM or Sirius. I looked, but not at all seriously, at in-dash DVD players. Yeah, I'm thinking “no” on that. If I had kids, or ever planned to have kids, I'd still not do it because there is only one thing more annoying than talk radio, that’s listening to the audio track of a movie when you can’t watch. One ride in Kevin's mini van while the kids watched a video proved that to me. So, where does that leave me? I don’t know. I may swing by Best Buy on Jacksboro Highway on the way home tonight and have a look-see at what is available. Then again, I might not. I haven’t done it the last two nights, why would tonight be different? Oh right, because I happened to notice a Best Buy conveniently located right off Loop 820 on my way home last night, that’s why. Well, we’ll see. Ok, we’re approaching lunchtime. I think I'm going to call it a rant and go eat. Have a day.
