Here I am in Meridian Mississippi. We just arrived in the hotel and I'm going to try to send off a quick report of the day. Pat arrived at around 0615 h, just as he said he would, and we hooked up the trailer. We rolled out and headed east. About fifty miles from the appointed exit, we got a call from Phil Anderson, no relation to Pat, saying that the map program screwed up and there wasn’t a rest stop where he said there was. The new rest stop meeting location was another fifty miles or so. About ten miles before we got there, the sky let loose! It was so bad that Pat's truck began to slow down considerably. Hindsight says it might have been bad gas as well as the rain but I digress. We met up with the group and then headed east again. We all spread out since we were more of a loose conglomeration of vehicles going the same way rather than a true convoy. At some point another member of the group joined us and we decided to stop at the Chili’s in East Monroe, Louisiana. We ate and headed east yet again. Again we spread out and lost sight of the rest of the group. I spotted Phil’s distinctive yellow Catarham and Ford Ranger on the side of the road with a flat. Pat and I stopped to lend a hand. Well, we stood by and watched as he changed the tire. When he was roadworthy again, we headed east. Now, as I said before, we’re here in Meridian at the motel waiting for the rest of the group to decide what we’re doing for dinner. I took a few pictures of the various rigs and the hotel room. I'll try to attach them to the e-mail to Spiderman and see if he’ll put them up somewhere. If he doesn’t it is no big whoop since the “good” pictures will be of the Tail of the Dragon. Well, I'm going to download these and shoost them off to Spiderman. Y'all have a day.
