It is getting hot outside. They are predicting over 100 degrees this weekend. That kind of makes me doubt that I'll get much work done at the shop. I need to call Marty Smith and make sure we’re on the schedule for the lift at GDRA on Saturday. I'd like to get those shackles installed on Fifi. I was invited to a big weekend long car show/cruise thing in Vernon, Texas this weekend but I think I'm going to pass. The Orlandos, Tony and Dawn from the Tail of the Dragon trip and no that isn’t their real last name, were the ones to invite me and Pat to it. They’re going to scout the thing out for next year. Vernon is only about three hours from here so I think I could manage it in the Seven. I'd probably make a stop or two on the way for leg stretching and such, but Juan never knows. Perhaps next year the DLR crew will have a Datsun or two ready for it and we can make a pilgrimage. We’ll see. I tried to send John some of the pictures that Tony sent me of the Tail of the Dragon trip but, once again, my slow assed connection locked up at any attempt to send more than fifty-two kilobytes of information in an attachment. What that means is a mystery to me, but there you have it. Use it as you will. Oh right, I had a point. I tried to send some pictures to show y'all what the Tail of the Dragon was like. I suppose you could go to this website and look for yourselves. I'm not sure exactly where to go once you are there, but I'm sure all you computer savvy folks can find it. John mentioned trying to get an east coast Datsun group to have an event. That would be a great location for it. I'd haul either the Seven or a 1200, or both, out there for that. I've said it before and I'll probably say it a few more times, those eleven miles of road are well worth the 1,000 miles of travel to get there! Too bad there are so many Hardly riders on it. I was showing the pictures to someone yesterday and they made some comment like, “That motorcycle guy was probably cussing being stuck behind y'all.” I laughed and said it was the other way around. We had to stop a few times to let the clot of Hardlies go ahead so we could get a clean bit of road to run. I can understand the sport bikes wanting to be there, they are like us in the Sevens, but why are the Hardlies drawn to the road? It isn’t like they can make the turns at any exciting pace. They just putt along keeping the rest of us from having any fun. Yet another reason why Hardly riders are douche bags. Well, I just got called away for a little bit but I'm back now. I think I'm going to call it quits for the rant today. I'll probably have nothing to say tomorrow either, but we all know that won’t stop me from saying it. Have a day.
