I spent most of the weekend thinking, and worrying, about the Burkett shop situation. I have a few ideas drawn up in Paint elsewhere in this laptop. The more I think about it, the more a four-car extension to the south of the existing garage makes the most sense. I know I'm keeping (Matilda), the (Seven), the (Chickenhawk), (George), and (Marty) at a minimum. The (Seven) has a spot, once I clean it out, in the existing garage. (Matilda), or whatever my daily driver is at the time, can continue to live on the south side of the driveway until mom’s car vacates the north side of the garage. That leaves the three 1200s to park somewhere. In a pinch, I suppose I could park them on the lower porch and be done with the vehicle portion of the move without any modification to the house at all. Thing is, that leaves all, or at least a large portion, of my fabrication equipment in limbo. A two-car extension could park two of the 1200s inside, or more likely one and the shop stuff. Now, a four-car extension would let all of the minimum inventory cars live inside with the shop equipment, allowing (Barbecue Bob) a reprieve. Of course once I grant a reprieve to (Barbecue Bob), I'll want to let (Mr. Wiggly) stay as well. Then there’s the trailer. I really don’t want to lose the trailer. Mom wants me to keep (Fifi) so that alone will probably reprieve the trailer. I guess the two cars that are “on the bubble” as it were, are (Barbecue Bob) and (Mr. Wiggly). I just went back and re-read all of what I just said and had a thought. I might be able to get the fabrication portion of the shop into the existing garage in front of the (Seven) and in the alcove thingy on the north side. I think I'd still want something on the side of the house for additional inside parking though. Besides, the number Gregg came up with as a starting guesstimate for construction wasn’t too bad. It was about $80,000.00 less than the quote I got for the building with an apartment in Boyd. It is a conundrum. Well ok, it probably isn’t really. Ok, I think I'm just about through here today. I need to cut out a bit early and go see a guy about a thing in that place with the stuff. Have a day.
