I took Fifi in to the Fjord dealer to have the A/C and intermittent, intermittent wipers looked at. He freaked when he saw the corrosion on the battery so they are servicing that as well. They claim the front seal on the compressor needs to be replaced so a total discharge/recharge of the A/C system is being performed too. The wiper issue is in the wiper motor, which doesn’t surprise me as I just replaced the switch last month. All in all, I'm going to be out about $800.00 when they’re done. Oh well, it’s only money. You can’t take it with you. I decided to take it in when Pat called to say he was about to buy another F-150 to use as a drive train donor for his Scout. While we were talking I asked what he was doing for the next hour or so and would he be available to drive me home from Fjord. He was and did. Mom was in Granbury with my sister so I decided to go have sushi. I didn’t go to Sushi Q like I had thought I might but went to Tokyo Steakhouse instead. I ate way too much but about $20.00 less than I usually do. It was quite good. This morning the CEO was supposed to have a big meeting with all of his “direct reports,” which is a fancy name for underlings. The room schedule said it started at 0800 h so I thought the tech was going to be here at 0700 h to set up. I got here at 0730 h and found the room empty. I called at 0800 h and found out the meeting wasn’t until 1030 h and they tech had been told to show up at 0900 h. No one told me obviously. So, I'm sleepy. Not to the point of being dopey though. It’s more of a general grumpy attitude. I'm just happy I don’t have allergies on top of things. I get kind of bashful when I'm sneezy and have to go see a doc. I knew a girl in college named Snow, um, something or other. We used to joke that she and I should get married so she’d be called Snow White. Turns out I couldn’t stand her after getting to know her a bit. I'd have killed her way before the wedding had we actually hooked up. Damn, I just got a chill thinking about how horrible it would have been to be married. I was going to say “to her” but thought stopping where I did was actually more appropriate. I just don’t get the whole marriage thing. I can’t see any advantage and plenty of disadvantages. Even the old saw about “free sex” doesn’t hold water because I've heard a few guys say that a sure cure for nymphomania is wedding cake. Ok, so I've only actually heard one guy put it that way, but many others have expressed the same sentiment. Nope, I'm going to remain a bachelor as long as possible. Well, I think I'm just about done talking to y'all for today. I may have more tomorrow. John is supposed to bring the kids to see mom and then hook up her DSL or BFD or PDQ or whatever that computer alphabet crap is she bought. We’ll see.
