Tony wants to go to the swap meet at La Grave Field tomorrow. He suggested that, “If it isn’t too far out of the way,” he would, “pick me up in the Hooptie…” I told him it is sort of really out of the way since I live on the west side of town, the swap meet is just north of downtown, and he lives very east of town in Not Texas. I think we’ll meet somewhere. Then again, Juan never knows, he might want to drive all the way out to get me. We’ll see. John and I are making plans for the various cars we want to keep. We’re trying to decide on engine choices for them. Of course George and the Seven are given, we’re not discussing them. What are being discussed are the plans for Marty, Barbecue Bob, and John’s: 1200, four-door 510, and another car that I'm not sure whether I'm at liberty to mention. John, feel free to let the folks know what it is if it public knowledge. I think the smart move for me would be to “slap an engine in” Barbecue Bob and sell him. I can also sell all of that V8 stuff I have accumulated. I really do not need an SBC powered 610. It will be worth more as a running car with a Nissan/Datsun engine anyway. We’re thinking KA-24 with fuel injection and a five-speed. Of course if it runs and drives really well, I'll want to keep it. We’ll see. I think we’ve decided on the Chickenhawk’s Z-20 with fuel injection and a five-speed for Marty. As for which five-speed, we’re discussing whether I should use the straight-pattern transmission from a 200SX or the dogleg unit I already have. Marty was an automatic transmission car so it has a bigger tunnel. The straight-pattern box might fit better than in John’s 1200 which was a four-speed car. Oh, I guess it should be noted that we’re thinking KA or NAPS-Z for his car as well. His internal debate is which car is going to get the turbo CA engine he has. There is also an L-20b with a five-speed in limbo at the shop as well as the A-14 from Gil. I suggested we sit down and make a spreadsheet of sorts to make the various ideas more tangible. Is that the right word? Well, I don’t care if it is. So, I guess, “There you have it,” is the next thing I'd say if we were in person. And in fact, there it is indeed to be had. I guess I'm going to call this incoherent babbling complete and call it a week. Toodles.
