John is telling me about a 350Z he knows about. I saw the pictures and, eh, it just doesn’t do it for me. It looks like a tacky “Madde Tyte Dryftyr” trailer queen show car cruise-mobile. I hate the carbon hood. All carbon hoods look like someone could afford to replace their dented hood with a Taiwanese knock off but couldn’t afford to get it painted. They look like complete and total ass, every time, no exception. [ And they are so hard to change... - SM ] Well, except for on a black car where it isn't noticeable. The shaved deck and smoked taillights look, well they look like every other show car out there. Nope, not interested thank you very much. I don’t care if he does have $50,000.00 in it and is only asking $30,000.00 for it. I don’t care if it has a 400+ horsepower turbo kit. Ok, to tell the truth, that was the only thing that got me to even look at the pictures. But I don’t really like the 350Z to begin with so it just doesn’t do anything for me. It’s like those “Glamour Shots” of your co-worker’s unattractive wife. Sure, she’s all tarted up and looks “good” in the Vaseline-clouded-lens way that they do, but she’s still unattractive once all is said and done. Nope, I'll stick with my plan for a new Altima for now. Besides, the whole thing could still fall through and I'd keep driving Matilda. Of course if the Altima deal does fall through, I will need more power from Matilda somehow. Since it is the only route available, at least in the bolt-on arena, I could probably be convinced to install nitrous. Yeah, it’s like cheating, yeah it’s more for drag racing, yeah I'd have to change my oil every month, but, um, well I don’t know what. We’ll see. It would be nice to roll into the gas and have a little “tssst” give me an extra 75 ponies on the freeway. Not to mention not having my ass handed to me as often at stoplights. Of course forced induction would be my first choice. I suppose I could take it upon myself to build a system for it. I do have Fifi to drive while it would be down. SHA-POW! Ouch! George, Gregg, John, Pat, Marty M., Marty S., and Ray all just mentally slapped me. I've got way too many projects to start in on something like that. Don’t fuck with your daily driver! Ok, ok, I won’t. Sheesh, lighten up y'all. Seriously, how many wacky ideas have I started in here and ever followed through on? Yeah, I thought that would shut y'all up. Of course, it doesn’t speak very well of me, now that I think about it. Hmm, how about this: shut up, it’s my blog. Ok, I seem to have gotten a bit off track, not that the tracks were leading anywhere, but still. Here’s my point, I think I'm going to continue to plan on selling Matilda to Enrique if he can get a loan. I'll get a loan to buy an Altima Coupe (V6 and six-speed go without saying but I said it anyway). I'll take Enrique with me to “beat up” the dealer on the price since, as I mentioned before, he used to sell new and used cars for a living. I think if that white car I drove before Christmas is still on their lot in a few weeks, I can get it for under $25,000.00. We’ll see. I was going through a timeline of my recent new and new-ish car purchases to justify trading Matilda so soon after buying it. I realized it was bullshit and erased it. Now it is approaching lunchtime so I think I'm going to call it a rant. Later.
