I have now met the following people in my job at the railroad: some mayors, some senators, some congressmen, some governors, at least two retired professional feets-ball players, an astronaut, a “woo-woo” Indian cross country runner, and a one-armed Everest Sumiteer. So what? Good question. I don’t know, it just seems odd to meet folks like that working for the railroad. And I don’t even work out in the real world of the railroad. I'm here at the corporate office. Ok, just thought I'd share. So, I'm probably not going to the shop with John this weekend. I have to go to Boyd to a birthday party for my, what is he, second-cousin once removed. I would try to get out of it but I need to talk to his father, my second-cousin-in-law, about the land and how much building I can build. He’s already fought it out with the “city” about stuff like that. In fact, I think mom told me he’s on the Boyd “city” council now or something. We’ll see. I guess I should stop parenthesizing “city” when talking about Boyd if I want to kiss their butts. It sure would be nice to stem the flow of cash and have my own shop. Oh sure, I'll have to pay the mortgage on the building, and the taxes, and utilities, and all that, but hopefully it will either be less than I'm paying now or I'll have a hell of a lot more space for what I'm paying. Of course there's also the fact that I can start charging rent to my cohorts to keep stuff there. Oh, and that idea of a hiding place for dudes to park their “mistresses.” By that I mean mid-life crisis Lotuses (Loti?), Porsches, Ferraris, Lamborghinis, Corvettes, and such that they might not want the wife to know about. I suppose there might be a few chicks out there hiding sports cars from husbands as well. You never know. Oh wait, we were calling it a place for them to work on/play with their toys and keep the home garage free for the wife’s car, weren’t we? Oops. Well tart it up however you want, there's that idea to help offset the monthly bills. Okay, once again I'm staring at the screen trying to think of more to say. I think I’m going to give up and call it a rant. Have a day. No wait! I just remembered something! I decided to drive Fifi to work today. On the way in I was listening to WRR and they played the number two most requested march in their March March Countdown. It was the “Imperial March” from “Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back.” I was thinking, “Damn, I should be driving Darth Versa listening to this!” Of course had I been driving Darth Versa I would have been listening to the satellite radio and wouldn’t have heard it so I had to settle for cranking it up in Fifi. It was quite cool. Um, so yeah, well then, I guess that’s all I have to say today.
