I designed the triple zorst headers for the Chickenhawk in Paint yesterday. I'll probably wind up going with a regular six-to-two traditional header though. I designed one of those as well. Of course the design I have is two dimensional and will probably not look anything like what actually gets built. In fact, I probably shouldn’t have even bothered. Oh well, it killed some time yesterday and this morning. The Japanese Car show we were going to have this evening has been postponed to next week due to (tee hee, I said doo-doo!) the weather. It was pretty nasty yesterday and could have been today, but it turned out really nice instead. John had to make the call last night to inform everyone and now it appears as though he pulled the trigger too soon. I can’t blame him though, it was really nasty yesterday. I did see a prediction of cold and rainy for this evening as well. You’d never know it looking outside though. Bright, sunny, cool but not cold, it is a lurvely day. Oh well. So, I'm taking Darth Versa in for his first oil change tomorrow. I've got 2,500+ miles on this first batch and want it out of there. I'll change it again in another 2,500 and then start on a 5,000 mile synthetic regimen. I need to change Fifi’s as well but I just don’t feel like it. Anyhoo, the point was, John is picking me up at Thornhill in the morning and then we’re going to the shop. I'm sure he’ll shame me into working on George, which is exactly what he needs to do, while he works on his 1200. Oh, I have been given permission to tell y'all that John is Vladimir. In other words, John traded me his 1200 and the promise of an installed KA-24 in Barbecue Bob for Marty. Therefore, it will be Marty that John will work on tomorrow. And by the way, the car has been rechristened Timmy in the tradition of naming cars after a significant previous owner. Hmm, that sounds kind of pretentious of me, doesn’t it? I'm not saying I'm more significant than Marty, just, um, well, I'm not sure what I'm saying. Wait, I'm not saying anything. John rechristened the car, I didn’t. I was still calling it Marty even though it had gone through John’s and Ray’s hands since he last owned it. Yeah, that ought to do it. So, I now own John’s orange 1200, again. It is, however, on the back burner behind the Chickenhawk and George. I'm not sure what I'm going to do with it when the time comes but the plan right now is the Chickenhawk’s Z-20, fuel injection, the dog-leg five-speed, and raised faux rally car suspension. Once again though, it is behind George and the Chickenhawk in line. I don’t consider Barbecue Bob “in line” since John is going to be building it for me, but I think it is back in the “keepers” inventory. We’ve also been discussing a paint scheme for Barbecue Bob. We’re thinking an homage to a “Mad Max” MFP Interceptor. That would be predominantly yellow, with red and blue stripes and some white pin striping. I'll probably forego the blue “gumball machine” lights on the roof though. What I'm really going to have a tough time “selling” is the idea of the roof mounted spoiler above the rear window. I think I can get folks behind the yellow wheels though. We’ll see. Of course, being a hard-top coupe, making it an homage to the black interceptor at the end of the movie has merit as well. I wouldn’t poke a blower through the hood or anything, just paint it black on black with MFP crests on the fenders perhaps. Ok, I need to watch “Mad Max” this weekend. Perhaps I'll do that tonight. I think if I did the yellow scheme, I'd put the driver’s names on the fender like they did in the movie. I'd probably have Dim Light for me and BBQ Bob as my partner’s name. I was thinking of some license plates as well, PRSUIT and NTRCPT jump to mind. Ok, I know I just said I wouldn’t poke a blower through the hood, and I absolutely, most likely, won’t, but I do have that one sitting there under the welding table. It could be mounted above the valve cover and ducted into the intake manifold pretty easily. Making the throttle butterflies work in that triangular “bug shovel” scoop they used could pose a problem. Interesting. Well, I just had a look at the clock and realized it is 1600 h on a Friday afternoon. Oh, and I have to pee. Therefore, I think I'm going to call this a week and go home. Y'all have a day, aw, take a whole weekend while you’re at it.
