I got nothin’ today. The Outlook server, or some such bullshit, isn't allowing me to log in to my e-mail on my work computer so I really can’t even… oh wait, never mind. Desktop support just called and fixed it. I guess I can do some actual work now. Damn. Well, we’re not going to let the ability to do work slow down my goofing off. Actually, I did some work using the telephone before getting Outlook back so I can consider it a successful day. Not that I would have lost any sleep over an unsuccessful day, mind you. Ok, so with the weather the way it is, I think I'm going to blow off trying to get Shi-Chi inspected tomorrow. If I do that, it pretty much puts the final nail in the trip next weekend. It would behoove me to not go. I could spend the next two weekends working on George. I should spend the next two weekends working on George. Mario and I will probably move those Z-car parts from his house to the shop sometime this weekend, weather permitting. We were going to do it last night but they predicted nastiness. Of course it never developed. Had we loaded that stuff in the trucks however, it would have come a frog-strangler. In fact, Darth Versa is still parked on the back patio under the awning because of those dire predictions. Ok, it was originally parked there because of the predicted weather, it is still there because the sprinklers ran this morning and I didn’t want to drive across the soggy yard. Oh, speaking of driving across the yard, I really think I want to have a driveway poured around to the back of the house. I spoke to Mario about it and I think we’re going to have a serious look-see at it. I think I've mentioned it before but it might bear repeating, here’s what I have in mind. I'd like to map out and mark the existing sprinkler heads in that yard. I want to seal off all of the ones next to the patio in back. I want to have that patio extended out to the edge of the house and a drive poured between the sprinklers in the yard. I'm not sure where I want the new drive to tie into the old one, but we’ll finger it out. Now, the big question is whether or not we pour this with a shop foundation included. Actually, that isn't really a bad idea now that I think about it. It adds a retaining wall and removes pretty much the whole sprinkler system from the south yard, but it would also give me that many more parking spots. Ok, so it also adds the need for an eight-foot privacy fence as well. Hmm, I need to talk to Mario. I just had a look at my Paint drawings and a shop at the house is beginning to entice me again. Speaking of being enticed, John just sent me a picture of a Fiat X-1/9 and asked if it were a good fit for a MOG (Man of Girth). I told him I don’t remember the one I drove in high school being too cramped but I was a bit thinner at that time. We then somehow got on the subject of putting an SR20DET in one. I mentioned my nephew having a couple X-1/9s and now the gears are grinding in our heads about building a Fiatsun. Or would it be a Datiat? If we went with the latter, would that be pronounced “dot-yot” or “dat-yat”? Great, just when I've convinced myself to thin my collection down to the “essentials,” we come up with this plan. Perhaps I should stick my fingers in my ears and go, “La, la, la. I can’t hear you. La, la, la,” when John mentions it again. We’ll see. Well, I've been to lunch now and I think I'm just about done talking to y'all for the week. Yeah, in fact I know I'm through talking to y'all for the week. I'm out of here.
