The doctor’s appointment went as well as can be expected. I don’t have anything wrong with me as far as he could tell by copping a feel of my moobs (man-boobs), fondling my nards, and fingering my butt hole. I might have considered it a pretty successful date had it been with, oh let’s say, Danica Patrick and our roles were reversed. Aw, who am I kidding? That would be an awesome date even if the roles weren’t reversed! So Danica, if you are reading this, first off I'm sorry for being so crass and second, if you ever want to check my prostate just say the word. Ok, so now I'm sitting here trying to remember what I did on Monday. I think mom and I probably went to lunch somewhere. Perhaps that was when we went to Saltgrass Steakhouse. I know I didn’t make it to the shop very early that day. When I did get to the shop I had another look around at A-series cylinder heads. I found a really nice unshrouded-intake head which looked like it had been recently worked. In fact, it looks like it has never even been run. It has obviously been installed at one time because there is head gasket residue on the mating surface but there is no sign of combustion ever taking place. The two things I see wrong with it are the air injector ports in the zorst and the round intake ports. The round ports are why we didn’t look at it on Sunday by the way. I found an oval port intake/exhaust gasket and marked where this one needs to be opened up. I also made note of the three water jacket holes for the intake manifold that I'd like welded shut. Of course now I'm beginning to second guess myself as to whether the dual SU manifold is round or oval port. I guess I need to bite the bullet and disable Shi-Chi. I don’t need to be driving it with a blown head gasket or cracked head anyway. Besides, I might like that head better as a starting point once I have it off, assuming it isn't junk. Ok, so I guess I'll plan on taking the head off of Shi-Chi this weekend. I'm remembering how well that car ran before and it is pissing me off that I didn’t diagnose this sooner. I could have had the head done over the winter and been ready for Seven driving season now. Grr! Anyhoo, back to the narrative, after finding the head I liked, I stuck a set of rocker arms on and dropped the whole thing in the back of Darth Versa. I was then struck with an urgent need to take a crap. Well, it was urgent enough to make me want to go home, not urgent enough to go to the latrine in the complex. I locked up the shop and went home. Of course by the time I got home it had sucked up so I sat on the can for a little before giving up. I don’t remember if I called Gregg or if he called me but I wound up cruising over to his place to A) bring him the cylinder head I'd chosen, and 2) see what he found when pulling the head off of his 510 racecar. I was bringing him the head so he could take it to his machine shop. We later decided that I'd go along to answer the important questions the machinist might have. Things like, “How much are you willing to spend?” and/or “What do you want done?” Yes, I meant for them to be in that order. So, I get to his place and he’s just about got his head off. Things don’t look as bad as we’d expected. He needs at least the two valves in the number two hole but the rest of the head and bottom end looked pretty good. We had a look at my cylinder head and made that “I’m going along to the machine shop” decision mentioned above. At about 1830 h we’d pretty much exhausted the fun potential of standing around in his driveway so I went home. So, I guess that’s about it. I'm sure I'll have some inane rambling rant tomorrow. We’ll see.
