In the spirit of “Drive Your Classic to work,” in addition to the spirit of “Shove Environmentalism Up Your Pooper,” I drove Mr. Wiggly to work today. I really like that van. Yeah, I know I say that every time I mention the thing, and I’m sure it sounds like I’m trying to convince myself, but I really do like that stupid van. Of course I smell like gasoline now, but it is worth it. Hmm, what to talk about? Ok, here’s the poop. I knew I was going to be stuck at the Asian Heritage Day event from 0900 h to 1300 h so I didn’t bring my laptop to work. Now I’m trying to kill time until I have to go set up the sound system. I’m doing the rant on the work computer today. Not having all of my shortcuts is really slowing me down. Well, it isn’t really because I’m spending most of the time staring at the screen trying to think of stuff to say. Well, it is now 0845 h so I guess I’ll start rounding up the gear for this stupid event. I’ll come back afterwards and tell y’all how it went. Well, I’ll at least come back to send this off to Spiderman. Ok, it is now 1435 h and I’m just getting back to the desk. I’m pooped. That was the biggest one of these Heritage Day events yet. But it went smoothly, I suppose. The only glitch was when they were done and I shut off the mics then headed to get some food. All of a sudden I heard the “music” shut off. I walked back to the mixer to find four people futzing around with my stuff. “Lemme in there,” I said as I shouldered my way through. I turned on the mic and the emcee said, “Could all performers come back to the stage for pictures?” That was all. I shut off the mics again and turned the “music” back on. Now I’m sitting here talking to y’all. Of course I’m having a little trouble with my eyes right now. I just can’t see me staying to 1700 h. I think I’ll shoost this off to Spiderman and call it a day. Yeah, that is what I’m going to do.
