Since we were taking a trip to Houston, and I would normally tell the story after we got back, John pressured me into doing this in real time. A live blog of sorts. So here we go...

06-13-08, Day 1

1035 h, Leaving shop. Woo hoo!

1116 h, Already bored with this.

1151 h, Stopped @ Schlotzsky's in Hillsboro. Yummo!

1215 h, Back on the road. Damn but there are a bunch of Hardly Dumbassed Ones about.

1527 h, Stopped for gas. Finally had to pee.

1545 h, Broke the seal, have to pee again.

1613 h, Made it to hotel and now checking in.

1600 h, Checked into hotel. Houston simultaneously sucks and blows!

1830 h, Dropped trailer in a safe place and ate at Lebanese joint. Not bad.

1945 h, In room for the night. Watching "True Lies."

2200 h, Watching "Adult Swim" on Cartoon Network. John's already dozing off.

2355 h, John woke up, turned out the light, and shut off the TV. I guess I'll go to sleep now.

06-14-08, Day 2

0815 h, Housekeeping woke us up. WTF! Housekeeping cleaning a room at eight in the morning?

0830 h, Well, I'm up now. I'll shower and wait for John to stir.

1100 h, John's up. We're going to the movie staging location now.

1235 h, Had lunch with the film crew. That was pretty cool.

1246 h, Addendum to lunch, lots of cool period cars here for the shoot. Maybe Spiderman will linky linky?

1320 h, We just walked 12 blocks across downtown Houston and back to find a druggist. Damn it's hot!

1410 h, Did I mention it's hot?

1430 h, Crap it's hot.

1545 h, We're now roaming Houston looking for a movie theater.

1845 h, Found a theater and just watched "The Happening". That was a two hour Captain Planet Al Gore save the environment fest. What a twist!

1930 h, We still some have free time so we see another movie, "You Don't Mess With The Zohan". Wow. I'm no political correctness proponent but that was a bit offensive.

2110 h, We're having middle eastern food for dinner. Go figure.

06-15-08, Day 3

0815 h, John's gone down to get "breakfast." I'm hopping in the shower.

0950 h, We just watched a movie on TV to kill time before going to the shoot. I think I'll fly a bombing mission right quick.

1130 h, Trying to stay out of the way while they prep the car for the shoost. John's calmly frantic about the prep. I'll just stand here and look pretty.

1152 h, They are now putting the "purified dirt" on the car. Kooky.

1157 h, It's not so much "detailing" as it is "dirtailing."

1253 h, Done with lunch and now we're hanging out waiting to move to the next setting.

1314 h, Three dude's are piling into the car. John is stressing out. Being a real mother hen. Can't blame him, I suppose.

1347 h, At the second location. They just took off to shoot. Now we wait.

1413 h, Damn it's hot.

1446 h, And we wait.

1458 h, John just took off in the passenger seat of his own car. I guess the director is allowing him a chance to see the locations. I'll just stand here and sweat I guess.

1506 h, John is teaching the stand in how to drive his car. I'll bet he's a nervous wreck!

1507 h, Oops! I didn't mean "wreck"!

1626 h, They're back from a shoot. I'm still standing around looking pretty. It's still hot.

1720 h, They're through with the car. Sort of. No more driving but the static shots at the restaurant won't be shot until 2100 h.

1805 h, Scuttlebutt is we're about to move to the final shoosting location.

1842 h, We're now at the final shoosting location the China Garden restaurant in downtown Houston. We're either waiting to be seated for dinner or we're waiting for sunset to shoost. I don't know.

1947 h, Just ate at China Garden and now we're standing across the street waiting for cameras. Joy!

2018 h, Beginning to get dark. Camera is about set. Time's approaching.

2045 h, Still waiting.

2050 h, We're rolling!

2055 h, And we're done.

06-16-08, Day 4

0817 h, Leaving the hotel and on the road north again. If we don't run out of gas.

0835 h, Got gas, got McDonald's, got going.

1000 h, Haven't spent a penny yet, but the trip just got expensive. In addition to a blowout on the trailer, the battery in the truck decided to crap out at the exact same time. We're at Wal-Mart in College Station.

1024 h, Well, after four new $65.00 tires on the trailer and a $111.00 battery we're still waiting in the waiting room.

1109 h, And we're back on the road again, again.

1307 h, Stopped in Waco at Popeye's Fried Chicken. Dang but that is some good chicken! Oh, now we're rolling north on I-35.

1419 h, Stopped at druggist in Crowley on 1187. Almost at the shop now!

1545 h, Been at the shop for a while. Watched John change his wheels and I welded some parts for him. Decided I'm not going to the office to pick up my keys and other Dingleberry. If they need me overnight, well, they're screwed.

1644 h, Aaaaaaaaand I'm home. Mom was glad to see me. My cat was aloof and indifferent towards me. I'm flying a bombing mission (I think I missed my handi-crapper most of all) and I'm about to take a shower. All in all, it was a good trip. Thanks to John and the film folks for making it happen.
