I know I promised the story of the night out with the guys. I started to enter it yesterday and decided I was being extremely pedantic in my writing. I realized that I didn’t even care about a blow by blow description of what I did over the weekend. Why should I expect y'all to give more than a tinker’s damn about it? So, I went home from Genghis Grill and got ready to go out. I met Pat at the Flying Saucer and had a Guinness. Pretty soon Tony showed up and joined us. Randy and Rob arrived and we all started drinking beer. Well, four of us drank beer. One of the group, who shall remain Tony, only wanted light American piss-water. The waitress even gave him a parcel of shit about it. It was truly funny. Since I was still full from GG, when the rest of the gang ordered food I declined. Well, I ate some of the chips and queso but didn’t order sandwiches when they all did. Of course once Tony’s Roast Beast thing arrived I had to have one as well. We sat around and talked about cars mainly. Rob and Randy are not car guys so they had all sorts of questions for Pat, Tony, and me. Before long we decided to head to another bar to shoost some pool. We headed across downtown to, um, some other bar. When we got in we found out that they were charging $5.00 to go upstairs, where the pool tables are, since they were showing Ultimate Fighting Championship fighting on all the TVs up there. We stood on the stairs for a bit debating it and finally went on up. We shot pool in “teams” for a while. Well, I don’t remember how the others played but saying I “shot pool” would be a very generous description of what I did that evening. “Sucked ass” at pool would be a better way of putting it. After about an hour we decided we were all old and called it a night. We walked back across downtown to the parking garage, swimming upstream against the river of people just coming out for the evening, and went our separate ways. I went home and crashed out. Sunday I didn’t do a whole lot. I know I went for a hoon out FM5 and I think I stopped off at the shop for a bit. Oh yeah, I remember now. I did remove the head gasket from the block in Shi-Chi finally and started to scrape the surface clean. I didn’t really want to get dirty so I quit. Obviously the “not wanting to get dirty” factor also kept me from doing anything with George. I really need to finish that car. “Sigh,” oh well, what are you going to do? And on that note, I'm going to do something else. Have a day.
