So I was telling y'all about dropping Darth Versa off at the butt-crack of dawn yesterday right? And I went on to tell y'all that they called and said it was ready right? And I told y'all about feeling like crap from the pizza overdose right? Well, around 1500 h I decided I felt just exactly bad enough to bail out and go home early. I decided I'd pick up the car too somehow. On the way home I also decided to take this opportunity to check on my heads at Automotive Machine and drop off a radiator I wanted to have cleaned and checked. I ran to the shop and tossed said radiator in the back of Fifi. I then went to the dealer. I asked if they had anyone who could follow me home and I'd bring them back. They had a porter who could do it, or so they thought. They sent, what I assumed at the time to be, a dude back to get Darth Versa but “he” returned and tossed the keys on the service writer's desk. “He” then stood there copping an attitude while the service writer went to the cute little chick behind the cashier’s desk and asked her if she’d follow me home. Pollyanna, the porter, then said to me, “I don’t drive stick.” I rolled my eyes and walked away. I wanted to say, “That’s ok princess, not all of us can be men.” I didn’t because “he” was black and the little jigaboo might have somehow thought it was a race thing. So, the cutie-pie cashier comes out and hops in Darth Versa. I say, “I'll be in the F-150, follow me.” This was the first time I have seen Darth Versa on the road. Damn but that is one cool assed car! We get to my house and I grab my laptop and radiator out of Fifi and transfer them to Darth Versa. She and I chat as I drive her back to the dealership. She was way cute but that was offset by the fact that she was also way young! The only reason I would say she was in any way vapid, would just be due to (tee hee, I said doo-doo!) the general vapidity of a girl her age. Of course, I could be giving her the benefit of the doubt because she can drive a man’s car. So, I drop her off and head for the radiator shop by Automotive Machine. The guy there asks me how soon I need it back. When he says he could probably have it ready Thursday, I say, “Psh, Thursday is fine. September would be pushing it!” We laugh and I give him my information. I head to Automotive Machine and Steve grabs the machinist from the back so we can discuss what we want to do. I think we have a game plan in effect. He’s going to see how much of the port he can unshroud and try to get the intake and exhaust ports to flow at the right ratio. He said he'd try to get the zorst ports to flow within 80% of the intake but wasn’t too optimistic about it. We’ll see what happens. He really wants me to cc the dish in the pistons so he can get a better idea of what the compression ratio is going to be. I guess I ought to do that for him. He’s also not too happy with the way the header seals against the head and wants me to bring it and the intake manifold in to him. I guess I can do that when I go to cc the pistons. Perhaps tonight I'll make a run to the shop. Yeah, if we’re going to do this right, I need to. I might wait until the sun is going down though so I'm less likely to die. We’ll see. Well, I need to take a projector across the street so I think I'm going to call it a rant.
