Well, I may have the shoosting bug out of my system for a little while. Yesterday’s rant about the cars has me back in a Datsun mindset. I think rolling George out and putting him on the back burner for a while will help a lot. John and I are planning to get cracking on Barbecue Bob Saturday. I'm not sure what all that entails, but that is the plan. Ok, that was the plan. Now the plan is for John to go to Mesquite, on the other side of Not-Texas, to drop off and pick up a pair of cars. That is, he’s dropping off one and picking up another to make the pair, not dropping off a pair and then picking up a different pair. No, there are only two cars total involved in his off-dropping and up-picking. I believe the plan at the shop will then involve making the up-picked car suitable for him to use as a daily driver. I've been invited to ride along on that excursion but I should probably spend that time making George roll so he can be evicted to the back burner. I think if I get a Datsun or two (Barbecue Bob and the Chickenhawk?) up and running it might inspire me to get excited about George again. I did have a dream last night about driving George, now that I think about it. We were having a Datsun meet or a Japanese car show thing somewhere near enough to the shop that I thought, using dream logic, that I could drive it back to the shop. How I got it to the show is another issue, which I have no answer for. I fired it up and started off down the road. It ran well enough but made very little power, even the few times I “got on it” a little. That’s all I remember. That car ought to be a fun little hoon if I ever finish it. I really shouldn’t give up on it, should I? Well, I've been on the TxDOT website looking at available license plates for a while now. I found one I think I'd like for George but I'm not going to say what it is just yet. John, it is the one I texted to you earlier. I suppose I could go ahead and plunk down my $40.00 to get the rights to it and use it whenever. I don’t know. We’ll see. Well, I'm bore with talking to y'all. I think I'm going to call it a short rant today. Perhaps I'll tell y'all about last night’s trip to the gun range tomorrow.
