3/13/09

Everyone wish my cat a happy birthday today. Well? Go on, do it! That’s better. Hopefully now that she’s three she’ll get over the “terrible twos” and begin to behave a little better. I'm not betting on it though. Anyhoo, last night after work, Larry Shuttlebus and I went to BloodBath and Beyond for a little gun accessory shopping spree. I bought a sling and pistol-grip forend for the shotgun and another speed loader for the Judge. One of the old speed loaders started dropping bullets when shaken, you see. I fingered out later that it might have been one particular bullet since it fell out of all three loaders while fifteen other bullets stayed in them. Perhaps the rim on that one was just a bit shy of full size. I swapped that bullet for one in the cylinder of the gun and now have three speed loaders full of .45 Colt jacketed hollow points. I guess I need to update my “Firepower Inventory” elsewhere in this computer. Oh yeah, I need to add the shotgun to that as well, now that I think about it. As for the shotgun, I mentioned buying a sling and forend. Well, the forend doesn’t fit and I didn’t like the sling. So that trip to BloodBath and Beyond was a total waste of money. Oh sure, I got another speed loader out of it, and I can probably make the forend fit, and the sling isn't all that bad, but… um, your face is a waste of money. Anyhoo, with the weather being all cold and rainy, I doubt we’re going to move cars in the morning. One of us will get our panties all up in a knot about it being too cold or too wet and we’ll put it off. Of course the money Aaron was going to pay me in the deal would pay for the shotgun I just bought, for the most part. With that in mind, I'm going to try and find a pair of un-knottable panties to wear tomorrow and see if we can’t get it done. Ok, so are we ready for some more wild-assed ideas and plans? Here goes, if I don’t hate that five-door 510 we’re getting from Aaron, I think it might revive the V8 Datsun idea. Since the HL-A10, which is what I should have called the thing last week when it was first mentioned, is called a “Violet” in other markets, I think a V8 powered one will have to be called “Ultra-Violet.” Yeah, it’s kind of obvious to those of us in the know, but to the great unwashed out there who don’t know Datsun/Nissan nomenclature, it wouldn’t be. Of course I'd insist on painting it Plum Crazy purple. Perhaps I could be talked out of the dual DCOE carburetors sticking out of the hood to give it a modicum of sleeper-ocity-ish-ness, to have. We’ll just have to wait and see. Hopefully, of course, I'll hate the thing and we’ll just relegate it to “donor” status, but there is a glimmer of a chance it could be revived. Well, we’re approaching noon so I think I'll wrap up the week’s ranting now. I think I'm going to plan to take the Space Gun and the shotgun with me to the shop and see about going to shoost them once John and I are done with car stuff. Who knows, he might be the one with the bunched panties about car moving and want to go shoosting too. We’ll see. Have a day.
