Oops, I've been playing around with a spreadsheet doing the inventory of my guns and ammo. I almost wasted the whole day on it and forgot to come talk to y'all. Well, here I am now. Ok, so here’s the latest on Barbara. I'm not sure what we’re going to do with her. The tires did turn out to be mostly junk. The one I noticed the other day with a chunk about to come loose won’t hold air. The other three will but one of the better ones has a nail or something in it. That leaves me with one “good” tire and one with questionable tread left. I'm setting them aside for the time being. Besides, Pat may want to buy the car for his brother or brother-in-law or someone. I'm not sure. He was supposed to come down and look at it over the weekend but I never saw him while I was there. John and I met up at the shop, in the rain, and hung out for a bit looking at stuff and generally not coming to any decisions or anything. Eventually we went to lunch with Roger from the railroad at Freebird’s and called it a day. Had it been dry, I would have driven Shichi down to the shop and we would have had a look at the intake manifold situation. But it came a frog strangler so I opted to stay dry and drove Fifi. After we ate I went bullet shopping at a couple places and wound up buying fifty rounds each of 9mm and .45 ACP ball ammo, then went to Whiskey Flats to shoot it. I also popped off the nineteen rounds of Werewolf ammo that came with the Taurus PT145 magazine I bought from the dude at Blood Bath and Beyond the other day. I like .45 ACP. After I was done, a couple folks asked me what I was shooting that was making so much noise. I laughed and showed them Big Millie. It does make a big bang for such a small gun. Have I mentioned how much I like .45 ACP? Well, I do. I went home and wiped down the guns and called it a day. While I was thinking about what I'd seen while shopping, I realized that 9mm might be cheap but no one has any. I texted John to ask how much he wanted for the Hebrew Hammer. He told me and I, on a lark, asked if he wanted a Pimp Gun. When he replied that he could do that we came to an agreement on the deal. We arranged to meet Sunday while he was doing a photo shoot of a car. Sunday morning Roger called to ask if I wanted to go have eat-all-you-can barbecue. I said I could do that and cleaned up to go out. I picked him up at his house and we rolled to the place. We ate and then looked for a Dairy Queen with no success. I dropped him off and headed home. Around the time I was supposed to be hearing from John about the photo shoot, I texted him to see what was what about it. He told me where they were, where they were going, and when they ought to be there. I said I'd hop in Shichi and come join them. This I did. I made the mistake of taking surface streets. Shichi doesn’t like traffic any more. I got to LaGrave Field and was about to text John again when they pulled up. We parked and he started taking pictures of the car. Eventually he finished and I agreed to drive him home so we could do the gun deal. He put his tripod in the floor and his camera case on his lap and then we headed out. We stopped at a drive-through for something his wife wanted him to pick up and then rolled to his house. He said, “It seems like we’re on some kind of secret mission because we’re in a fast car and I have this case like this.” I said it should be handcuffed to his wrist and we should have theme music too. We laughed. Ah, good times. Anyhoo, I dropped him off and we traded shoosting irons. So, now I'm not the Taurus guy, I'm the .45 caliber guy. Three of my guns, four if you count the .410 bore shotgun as a .45 caliber, shoot that size bullet. Suffices to say that those four will hurl a hunk of lead almost ½” in diameter with each trigger pull. Tee hee. I'm giving some though to selling the Space Gun, but not very serious thought. It and Slick Willie are the only things I have in 9mm anymore. I don’t know, we’ll see. Well, I'm just about talked out and it is approaching quitting time. Ok, so it is approaching and hour I can justify going home which is close enough to actual quitting time. Yeah, that’s it. Toodles.
