This has to be the slowest week ever! [ And I thought it was just me... - SM ] It is only Thursday! Crapity crap crap! Feh! On Tuesday I get a call from the Nissan dealer saying Ms. Clio is ready to be picked up. I swing by but they don’t have a valet who can drive a man’s car. I said I'd pick it up on Wednesday. So, after work, John and I swung by and I got it out of hock to the tune of $0.00 if you can believe it. They replaced the carpet and floor mats, and probably some other stuff, because the A/C condensation drain was disconnected. John followed me to the house where we parked Fifi and I hopped in Shichi. John followed me to the shop and we had a look at the various and sundry gasket surfaces to see if there was a vacuum leak. There wasn’t. This fact annoyed me because I was hoping to find a quick and easy fix. We ciphered and figgered on it for a bit and finally John convinced me that the dual Mikunis were the way to go. We began looking at what it was going to take to install them. Once we had a plan of attack in mind for that, we moved on to playing with the stainless Supertrapp mufflers for the car. Yes, I said “mufflers” plural even though we’re only going to install one on the car. We installed the baffle plates on both and then I had a look at making a de-bigulator fit in the gazinta end. I guess it is actually a re-bigulator since it is going from a 2” pipe to 2 ½” muffler inlet, but I digress. I got it in the end and straight but we called it an evening before I welded it up. I'll do it Saturday. We hopped in Ms. Clio and went to have hot wings at Buffalo Wild Wings. I'm not sure whether or not I said I wouldn’t go back there the last time I reviewed the place so I'm not sure if I ought to apologize for my hypocrisy. I wouldn’t, but I wonder if it would be appropriate. Anyhoo, the wings were pretty good and the service was a tad better. I guess we can go there again. I dropped John off at his house then had to run back to the office to drop the Cosby Kids off at the pool. I didn’t go back to my office to get my laptop however. Oh, I've decided that I'm not even going to bring the laptop home on Wednesday night anymore because by the time I get home from dropping John off, I usually just go straight to bed. This I did last night as well. This morning I got a late start and headed to work around 0830 h. I had to show a cop my Double Naught Spy license along the way. Yeah, apparently seventy on my speedometer is actually seventy-four. Not that it would have made that much difference, it was a sixty mile per hour zone. Oh well. So, I've been alternating between being really busy and goofing off all day now. One of the things I did while goofing off was to order the Heim joints and stuff to make the throttle linkage work on the Mikuni carburetors. McMaster Carr rules! Now I need to contact Dick Brink and “order” a new bonnet for Shichi since the giant hole for the SU carburetors is now superfluous. I have hated that hole since the day I cut it so it really isn't that big a deal. I wonder how many hundreds of dollars that is going to cost. Well, I'll let y'all know when I do. And with that I think I'm going to call it a rant. Perhaps tomorrow I'll talk about the plans for the other cars in the fleet. Plans John and I discussed while deciding on the Mikuni deal. Yeah, I'll get to that later. Have a day.
