Well, Dick Brink has a couple used bonnets available. They are, however, already painted. I think instead of stripping the paint and having John polish the thing, we’ll just paint it flat black to match the nose cone and wings. I did a really bad Photoshop job, to get a feel for the basics, and liked what I saw. I think it’ll play. So, I'm going to plan on making contact with Dick again this weekend and arrange to go get one sometime. It would be ultra-bitchin’ awesome if the McMaster-Carr order arrived today, but I'm not going to hold my breath, especially since I only ordered it yesterday. Here’s what I think I'll plan on doing tomorrow. I think I'll build the new Supertrapp zorst and try it out with the SUs. Then I'll get cracking on taking them off and preparing the car for the Mikunis. I'm going to start the day however by helping John turn his 1200 around and making him get to work on it. I'll shoo him away from my car anytime he tries to come into the paint booth too. Then again, I might not disable the car until we have the bits to make the Mikunis work. Yeah, that does make more sense. I've been doing some air filter shopping. I'm not sure what I want to do on that front. I have one K&N filter for a single DCOE type carburetor, but I'm not sure I could match it to… wait, that’s installed on the DCOE in George. Never mind. I'll need air filters for both carburetors after all. John wants to make sure the air horns stick out of the side of the bonnet. He wants me to put longer ones on to be sure. We’ll see. If the hood already has a hole, we will do it for sure. If not, well we’ll see. I'm torn between the stainless steel mesh screens like I've been running on the SUs and a real filter to keep schmutz out of the float bowl. It is a quandary. I suppose I ought to walk that horse around to the front of this cart right quick and just get the damned carburetors installed and running first. Feh, I think I'm going to grab some lunch. I may be back later. Nope, I've got nothing. In fact, I'm already at home because I sent the wrong rant to Spiderman earlier. Well, that’s all y'all are going to get from me this week. Deal.
