Well, I think I'm going to be a good boy and not buy an AK-47. I've been looking at the Space Gun and it really is a pretty cool piece. I need more magazines for it though. I'm thinking nine more would be a good Zombie Apocalypse supply. I'd load each with nine rounds for a total of 99 and the 100th would be in the chamber. That scenario makes my two 100 round storage boxes superfluous, but what the hell. Actually, I've got those two 15 round magazines. I should take the time to tune those up and make them work properly. Hmm, I think I need a package of 9mm dummy rounds. Blood Bath & Beyond, here I come! I'll look for more HiPoint Carbine magazines while I'm there too. I need to make a shopping list because I keep forgetting to look for a single magazine pouch. The double pouch, while affording me more “anti-shan-fitting” capacity, is too much for the pocket I've discovered. I'd like to carry two extra magazines, but it imprints on the pocket and is way too heavy. I think a single will be more manageable. Speaking of management, I think I'm going to try concealing the Hebrew Hammer tomorrow when I go to the shop. Oops, I've just alerted John to the fact, now he’s going to be on the lookout. Well, we’ll just see if he’ll be able to detect it. Oh yeah, back to the Space Gun, I think I'm going to put some kind of optics on it. I'll go talk to the dudes at BB&B and see if there is a generic Picatinny or Weaver rail that I can bolt on to the top of the receiver. Duh, let me look on the internot, not that I'll find anything, I rarely do. And today was no exception. Ok, I think I am going to swing by BB&B, as I sort of mentioned above, and see what I can find. So, to recap, I'm looking for a single magazine pouch for the Hebrew Hammer and/or big Millie, a package of 9mm dummy rounds, a Weaver or Picatinny rail, and something in the optical sight department. Oh, I might look for another 100 round storage box for .45 ACP ammo and a five-pack of 000 buckshot rounds for the Judge. Yeah, that’s what I'll do. Ok, so there’s talk afoot about John putting a set of wheels and a pair of seats on/in Lil' Wiggly in exchange for his being allowed to borrow it while his car is in the paint shop. I'd be happy with the Z six-spokes we already have, but he’s talking about a set of König Rewinds for it. Of course I'm not going to say “no” to that. We also bounced around the idea of putting a set of 14” Bart wheels like Barbecue Bob sports. The discussion on those is color. I'm all for solid black but apparently he's having trouble finding a set. We’re thinking now about a set of silver ones and some black spray paint. We’ll see. Oh, his argument against the Z wheels, I just remembered, was that the aftermarket wheels will have a better offset and will fill the fenders better. I can see that. So, yeah, we’ve got that going on. We went to the shop last night but it was butt-assed butt-butt hot. John cannibalized some parts off of the 620 truck while I began finishing up putting Shichi back together. While messing with the horn, I'd disconnected the speedometer and wasn’t 100% sure I'd gotten it hooked back up right. I wanted to do a test before reinstalling the scuttle. We jacked the ass-end up and fired up the engine in gear. As I blipped the throttle, John confirmed that the speedometer worked. We set the car down and installed said scuttle. The plan for that car is: I'm going to live with the SUs this summer and we’ll swap on the Mikunis when the weather cools a bit. Once we had that car back together, I rolled it out and locked up the shop while John went to the small storage unit to take some pictures of the Z engine I have for sale. He then followed me to my house in Fifi while I hooned home in Shichi. Actually, I didn’t really get much of a chance to hoon since I was stuck behind slow folks most of the time. I did get to open her up a few times. Yeah, while that car is stupid fast, the SUs just don’t like that cam. It needs the Mikunis. It ought to be retarded fast with those carburetors. With the car safely tucked away in the garage, we went downtown to Pizzeria Uno for dinner. I dropped him off at home and went home myself. I almost got caught up in “Live and Let Die” on TV. I think that is my favorite Roger Moore, James Bond flick. Wait, let me think about that. Let’s see, the RM films were: “Live and Let Die,” “Man with the Golden Gun,” The Spy Who Loved Me,” “Moonraker,” “For Your Eyes Only,” “Octopussy,” and “A View to a Kill.” Yeah, by far LaLD is my favorite of that lot. However, to rank them from best to worst as films, I'll have to give the nod to FYEO as the best, only slightly ahead of TSWLM. In fact, I'm having a hard time choosing between the two for best. They are the two films which feature a Lotus Esprit as well. Third place goes to my favorite, LaLD. MwtGG had some really silly stuff in it, but it was a pretty good flick, all in all. Actually, those two are also a tossup as to which is a better Bond film. By AVtaK, RM was pretty long in the tooth and wasn’t very convincing as a suave super agent. The rest of the film was pretty forgettable too. Having said all that, it was still better than the two turd-sandwiches sharing last place as the worst Bond films of the Roger Moore era, the two single word titles. Wow, those were really bad, with M just barely inching out O for the worst of the worst. I'm not really sure how we got off on that tangent, but there you have it. I suppose I could go into a discussion of the greatest of all time James Bond eras, those with Sean Connery, but I don’t think I will. Aw, what the hell? SC was in “Dr. No,” “From Russia With Love,” “Goldfinger,” “Thunderball,” “You Only Live Twice,” “Diamonds Are Forever,” and the unofficial remake of “Thunderball,” “Never Say Never Again.” Hmm, that’s a tough one. They all rock. Well, except for NSNA. That’s easily the worst of the lot. Of course since it wasn’t an official Cubby Broccoli production, it could be left off the list entirely. Since I'm having trouble ranking them from Best to… um, not-quite-as-good-as-the-one-before-it-on-the-list (come on, with the exception of NSNA, there is no “worst” Sean Connery, Bond film), I'll go from my favorite to… um, if-given-a-choice-I'll-watch-the-one-before-it-on-the-list. #1 DAF, #2 YOLT, #3 Gf, #4 FRWL, #5 Tb, #6 DN, and bringing up the rear, even behind most of the Roger Moore films, NSNA. As for the rest, I've only seen George Lazenby’s Bond film, “On Her Majesty’s Secret Service” once or twice. I cannot really judge it. Timothy Dalton’s films were, much like the last few RM’s and one SC abomination, most forgettable. I can’t decide if I’m going to like Daniel Craig or not. I wasn’t impressed with the latest effort, “Condom of Sausage” or whatever it was called, but I'm remembering “Casino Royal” as being not too bad. My favorite of the modern Bonds though is Bronson Pinchot, er, I mean Pierce Brosnan. I'd rank his films, again from favorite to less favorite, “GoldenEye,” “Die Another Day,” “Tomorrow Never Dies” (AKA “The Sun Never Sweats”), and “The World is not Enough.” So, now that we know how they break down by actor, I suppose an overarching list from favorite to least favorite is in order. Yeah, I'm not doing that, mainly because I'm bored with this. So there. Have a day.
