Woo hoo! No more Windows! My new laptop arrived Saturday and I've been playing with it since then. I love Linux! OK, so it isn’t all that different than Windows, in fact Juan could say that one GUI is just like another, but knowing I didn’t send any money to Bill “Tiny and Flaccid” Gates makes all the difference in the world. I'm not sure if y'all are ever going to get to read this particular rant because we’re still having trouble getting this guy on the network at the house. It isn't a Linux issue. It is an “I forgot the damned password” issue. We tried everything to no avail. We’re either going to have to run a LAN cable from mom’s room to mine, or I'm just going to give up the internot. We’ll see. I did get almost all of my photos, at least the ones I really care about right now, transferred to this computer. I even have the screen saver set to show them. Oop, I need to reset the desktop to a photo too. I think I'm going to shut down the rant for a bit and go do that. I also need to reset the speed of the mouse pad touch thingy, if I can finger it out. OK, I might be back later. Toodles. OK, I'm back. I did finger out how to speed up the mouse thingy, it is much better now. I also got a few more photos loaded onto this thing. All of my lists, plans, rants, spreadsheets, and other documents have been transferred and converted into a usable format. I now need to finger out how to move all of my music over. I tried it with the USB memory stick thing but it only transferred one song. I'll probably have to finger out a way to network the two laptops to make that transfer happen. I guess I need to “liberate” another LAN cable from work so I can do that. OK, it is now 1637 h, I think I will call it a day. I'm going to send this rant to Spiderman via the work computer and call it a day.
