OK, so I have a wild hair... hare? Wait, which is it? I ask that every time don't I? Anyhoo, I have a hankerin’ to build another header. While waiting for the shuttle a little while ago I texted John to ask if he would rather buy the bits and have me build one for him or if he wanted to use the Chickenhawk header in Timmy. He called me back and we discussed it a bit but I don't think we came to any conclusions. The main problem was I sent the text to kill time and broach the subject. I wasn't really all that interested in discussing it right now. He makes a valid point that the KA is probably going to have the zorst ports at a different height than the NAPS-Z engine and the existing header might not fit. My only argument against him using the Chickenhawk header is it was built for a left hand drive car, Timmy is going to be RHD. So what? Did you just ask me, “So what?” Well, the header was built to clear the steering box, it will have an extra hump in it when the box is on the other side of the car. It might not be noticeable though. We’ll just have to wait and see I guess. Another argument for him using the Chickenhawk header is the KA has round ports whereas the NAPS-Z has squarish ports. The header is built for squarish ports. I don't know, there is always the option of using an off the shelf header for the KA as those are actually available. What we’ll probably wind up doing is buying a header for a KA and if it doesn't fit, fingers crossed that it won’t, then we’ll cut the head flange off and build one from there. I just went to e-Bay to see what was available. I hate most of them. There were a few Tri-Y units that looked pretty good, but I think I'd rather get a cheap unequal length guy and cut it up. There was one for $36.00 on the first page so I doubt it will be tough to find another cheap one. OK, so I guess I've decided that we’ll go with the Chickenhawk header in Timmy after all. Yeah, like any plan set out in here ever comes to fruition. We shall see. I was going to review “G.I. Joe” but have decided against it. I will point out some of my favorite bits though. The line where Marlon Wayans says, “You have such lifelike hair, and a Kung-Fu grip!” was funnier than hell to me. Of course being the only one in the audience who actually had real 12” tall G.I. Joes, with lifelike hair and Kung-Fu grip (as well as ones with plastic hair and non Kung-Fu grip hands) I'm not surprised. Hell, I even remember when the Kung-Fu grip hands were introduced. As an aside, do not try to let a Joe slide down a zip-line made of sewing thread with his Kung-Fu grip hands. It will cut off all the fingers. Don't ask how I know this. Anyhoo, where was I? OK, so that line was funny. I got a kick out of them destroying the Eiffel Tower, too bad they saved the rest of Paris. Oh well, what are you going to do? I thought that the “And knowing is half the battle” line would have been funnier had Dennis Quaid started saying it and the rest of the group finished it, like he said it all the time and they were sick of hearing it. That sort of shtick. Having a British guy play the President of the US was an interesting choice. Don't get me wrong, I like Jonathan Pryce, but come on. He’s Welsh for crying out loud! That would be like having John Wayne play Genghis Khan... oh wait, John Wayne did play Genghis Khan. Never mind. Damn, there was something really ridiculous in the film. I mean more ridiculous than the rest of the ridiculousity in there. It was near the end. Crap, I don't remember. Oh well, it was funny. John speculated that much of the sillier stuff might have been in there for camp value. I suppose. It wasn't a bad movie, for what it was, but it sure wasn't a good movie. Go see it. Well, I'm bored talking to y'all. I think I'm going to call it a rant.
