Holy crap on a cracker! I have been so busy today it isn't even funny. OK, I guess it is a little funny, now that I think about it, but still. I'm not sure why I didn't bother talking to y'all yesterday. I was a little busy, but not like today. I guess I just didn't want to. Well, Tony Calvert is guilting me into wanting to get Shichi back on the road. Yes, technically it isn't off the road, I just don't like the way it drives right now so I don't take it out as often as I should. It might as well be out of commission. Anyhoo, I really want to “finish” up Lil' Wiggly so I can get the carburetors swapped on Shichi. The car is sliding down the slippery slope to becoming a track monster rather than the street beast it is supposed to be. I'm beginning to think the big cam engine was a mistake. Hopefully some more cam friendly carburetors will, simultaneously, make the car faster and more enjoyable to drive. We shall see. We are supposed to meet at the shop first thing in the morning to do the brakes on Lil' Wiggly. I think we might look at the seats too if there is time. Thing is, I have to come in to work at around 1245 h so I'll need to get home no later than 1200 h to clean up. If we get to work on the car at 0800 h, we’ll have less than an hour per corner for the brakes. If we work like I suggested the other day, jack up one side at a time and have one dude do the front and the other do the rear, we should be able to knock them out pretty quickly. We shall see. As for the seats, perhaps mounting them without sliders will go quickly. Juan can hope. I wonder if just the thickness of the sliders themselves will make the seat sit low enough. If not, we’ll have to remove the stanchions upon which the seats sit and get them down to the floor. I guess, conceivably, we might only need to remove the rear stanchions and bolt the thing directly to the floor. I think the front of the seat might be behind the front cross member thingy. Yeah, as if I can remember what that floor looks like after a week. I mean I kind of do, but then again I kind of remember how to speak French. We may or may not find out in the morning, I suppose. I just had another thought. If we can get the back of the seat low enough for ingress and egress, a little extra Hockley might not be too bad. I'm not sure if I ever told y'all, but Hockley is the term John and I decided to use for the angle of a seat bottom. If the front is higher than the rear, then the seat has positive Hockley. If the rear is higher, then it has negative Hockley. Hockley, by the way, is independent of the seat-back angle unless it is a one-piece seat like a Kirkey or those in Shichi. But enough of that. I guess it is another “we’ll see” sort of thing. Well, I'm bored with this. I think I'm going to call it a rant. Talk to y'all Monday, probably.
