8/6/09

I didn't have anything to say yesterday so I didn't even try. Today I shouldn't even try since we’re supposed to go to the shop tonight. However, I am so bored I have to do something. Well, the guy wandering around my area is now gone so I suppose I could go back to playing solitaire, but I don't think I will. So, what to say, what to say? I think I might swing by the house and pick up a gun or two just in case John doesn't feel like going to the shop. No, not so I can shoot him, so we can go to the range. I'd like to put a few rounds through the Hebrew Hammer and/or the Space Gun II. Then again, I think I might want to sell the Hebrew Hammer. It is sort of super-flu-us. On the gripping hand, I really do like it, a lot. It was the gun I took my “Double Naught Spy” test with after all. Hmm, I don't know. Maybe it should become the car gun or something. I know it would ride well in the door pocket of Ms. Clio, especially if I made a clip for the holster. It would tuck nicely between the seats of Fifi. While I'm making holster clips, I could make one for Lil' Wiggly, Shichi, George, and the Chickenhawk too. Of course the one that makes the most sense as a “Car Gun” is the Judge. Loaded with a couple 000 Buckshot shells and three .45 Colt hollow points, it would solve just about any “Anti-social Situation” that might come up. But it is so nice having it hooked to my bed frame, ready to go. No, the Hebrew Hammer, if any of them, will become the dedicated “Car Gun” I think. Perhaps I'll go to the shop with or without John and play with some holster clip ideas. Hoo doggies! I have got to go pee! I'll be right back. Ah, much better. Now, where was I? OK, building gun holster clips for the cars. I'm thinking that a simple “U” shaped piece of aluminum attached to the kick panel in front of the door should slide into the little belt pocket of the Hebrew Hammer’s holster and hold the thing pretty well. If each car had one, then the holster could be transferred to whatever car I'm driving at the time. Oh, Shichi could be problematic though. What do I do with the gun when I'm away from the car? The other cars can be locked up, for the most part, keeping the gun safe and away from unauthorized hands. Shichi, not so much. Of course there is also damned little room in Shichi for drawing a concealed gun. In fact, the more I think about it, the gun would almost have to be holstered in the passenger side of the car, or up under the dash, for me to be able to get to it in an emergency. Perhaps Shichi needs to rely on my main carry gun, Big Millie, and not the Hebrew Hammer in a special holster location. I don't know. There is also the fact that I'm such a hot-head that having a gun close to hand in the car might not be such a wise idea. Having to think about drawing Big Millie, and work to do it, gives me time to reconsider my actions. I do not carry in a “moment of passion” fashion. It might defeat the porpoise of carrying, if the fit ever does hit the shan and I need to use it, but it also keeps me from indulging some dumb bastard in need of a good killin’ just for pissing me off. I was talking to a fellow “firearms enthusiast” the other day and mentioned that there are folks out there in need of a good killin’ and she laughed in a rather nervous fashion about that. I'm not sure what that has to do with anything, but there it is nonetheless. I've been thinking some more and it really does make more sense to sell the Hebrew Hammer. Sure, I could dedicate it as my range gun, but practicing with something other than what I'm going to carry doesn't make a whole lot of sense. It certainly isn't any cheaper to shoot than Big Millie as they are both .45 ACP. I do keep it by my chair when I'm watching TV so Juan could say it is my primary “home defense” gun, but I could just as easily keep Big Millie with me. Actually, were I to attach a strap of some sort to the bottom of the end table next to the chair, I could hang Big Millie in its holster within arm’s reach. Of course I could also just slip the holster between the cushions as well. Yeah, I think I need to go ahead with the planned sale of the Hebrew Hammer. John, you want to get on that for me? Thanks.
