16,013 nights without CPAP, still not dead. I had a thought the other day, in doing the math on how many nights I've slept without a CPAP machine, I realized that my 16,000th day on the planet was the day I went in for that first sleep study. It kind of freaked me out, to be honest. Well, just a wee little bit. Not much really. OK, I just found it slightly interesting. Unfortunately, I'm not finding it interesting talking to y'all. I'm shutting down for a bit. I'm back. I heard back from the Hill Country Sevens Tour organizer today. He doesn't have a problem with John and Samantha “gate crashing” the event. I've sent John an e-mail with the hotel information and stuff but I really don't see them doing it. I mean, I suppose it is possible that they’d be interested, but I'm not holding my breath. I'm sure if I were to sweeten the pot by promising to trade seats with him/them for some of the cruising, portions it could be more tempting. I don't know. I'm not even sure why I'm so fired up to drag them along. For that matter, I'm not sure that I am as fired up to drag them along as it seems here. I guess it is an attempt to stay in her good graces by involving her in something. To be honest, I'm thinking of it more as their getaway which would just so happen to coincide with a thing I'm going to, at a place I'll be. If I never even saw them once the weekend started, I'd be fine. I don't know, we’ll see. So, it is finally Friday and I need to decide which car I'm going to bring to the BNSF Family Day car show. I'd like to have Shichi there but I'm not sure if we can get it all done in time. Basically, we’ve got tomorrow to get the carburetors on, get them plumbed and linked, make the hood fit and pretty, and tune the thing. Whereas Lil' Wiggly just needs a bit more tarting up. I'm thinking I'd like to paint the rest of the floor behind the seats black so it doesn’t look as shabby through the windows. Oh, and we need to clean the hell out of the windows, especially the little pop-out vent thingies. They are really grubby. I'm still thinking about the “Oh, those really do tie the scruffiness of the exterior together” accents, but I'm not sure what I want to do in that respect. Most likely, it would be painting the “cove” area under the lowest body lines flat black and perhaps some sort of “George Stripes” on top. OK, I just looked up some pictures and the hood doesn't really lend itself to “George Stripes.” perhaps if the whole “power bulge” in the middle of the hood were blacked out it would work. I'll need to discuss these things with John of course. Then again, we might have even left that project too late. Well, not too late for ME to paint it, but John will want to “do it right” or something. Psh, whatever. Oh, speaking of paint, mom said she’d probably pay for a paint job if we found some bumpers for it. I didn't have the heart to tell her I took the ugly assed bumpers off the thing. So, how are those Japanese spec bumpers coming along John? I wonder if we could adapt a set of 1200 bumpers to it like we did with Barbecue Bob and the 510 bumpers. Hmm, I might have to look into that, assuming we have any decent (enough) 1200 bumpers still. Well, we’ll see. OK, I think I've just about said all I'm going to say today. I'll chat with y'all again Monday.
