Man, have I got “Short Timer’s Syndrome” today or what? I really want to pack up and cut the hell out of here, right now. Of course it is only 1430 h so I really cannot justify it. Oh well, what are you going to do? OK, so I really have the shit-hots to do that electric conversion on Roku-Hyaku. Want to know what really sucks? They have the “Light Vehicle Direct-Drive AC Kit” on sale right now. It is about $3,000.00 off the list price. I so wish I had $7,000.00 to spare right now. Of course that system requires 156 volts minimum. I'm not sure there is enough room for 26 six volt batteries in Roku-Hyaku. Hell, it might be tight getting the minimum 16 batteries the DC system requires into that car. I guess we need to make a bunch of mock batteries and just see how many we can fit in the chassis before we get too far along on this scheme. I picture a sliding rack which extends out of the little trunk door thingy in the back. Perhaps it can be articulated in some was so that it stacks two racks on top of one another. Hmm, complex but it sure would be cool. It would need some type of support structure which would flop down when the thing came out of the hatch. Perhaps like the wheels on a Gurney stretcher? No, the only time the batteries would need to be pulled out would be for maintenance. You’d have a support structure at the shop to slide the rack out onto. That sure would simplify the articulation as well since you would pull the first rack, disconnect and remove it, then pull the second rack, disconnect and remove it. Installation would be the reverse, connect the lower rack of batteries, slide it in and lock it down, then hook up the upper rack, slide it in and lock it down. OK, I've stepped away from the laptop for a while and the train of thought has derailed. Since it is now 1630 h, and I'm starting my vacation in half an hour, I'm going to call this rant “complete” and shut this laptop down. I may have little rantlets in the next two weeks and I may not. If so, enjoy. If not, suck it.
