Happy Birthday John. Congratulations on making around the sun, one, more, time! Woo hoo! As for the rest of you, welcome to winter. It’s a bone chilling 52 degrees here in Fort Worth. Brrr, not sure I can take it, all bundled up in my short-sleeve golf-type shirt and khaki pants today. (In case the “sarcasm font” wasn't working, that was sarcasm). Anyhoo, I'm sitting here at my desk, just about bored out of my skull, trying to think of stuff to do. I brought a bunch of movies to watch, but even that doesn't appeal right now. I guess I could go eat lunch. Naw, I had a package of Zingers and a ‘Tard Fuel, AKA Mountain Dew, just a little while ago. I'll wait for someone to call about lunch. OK, so what happened over the weekend? Friday evening... um, I didn't do anything. Saturday morning I met Pat at his house and we rolled to John's in Fifi. By the way, there were some scratches and stuff from the accident, nothing I'd worry about but maybe the insurance folks will cut me a nice check. Oh, on the way to John's, we stopped at Automotive Machine and I made another payment on my engine. At John's, we watched him remove the gazinta and gazowta manifolds from the engine and then loaded it up in the bed. Pat and I rolled to the shop and dropped off the engine then parted ways at his house. I went and walked the gun show. There were a few guns I wanted, but none I could afford, especially after making that engine payment. I went home and wasted the rest of the day, I guess. I don't really remember. Sunday, Larry Shuttlebus called and we went to the gun show. There wasn't anything new that day, at least not anything that I could afford, so we walked it and headed out for lunch. We wound up at Taco Casa by my house. After we ate, I asked if he’d like to see Nadine. He did so we went to my house for a bit. After perusing the car, we looked at the side of the house where I'd like to put a shop. He suggested digging down and making it two-story somehow. While interesting, I don't think it would be practical. We discovered I had a flat on Ms. Clio so I jacked that corner up. Yep, there was a nail in it. I removed the wheel and tire and then excused myself from Larry to release a hostage. I assume he made it out of my neighborhood alright since I saw him today. Anyhoo, after dropping the kids off at the pool, I took the flat to the Boys of Pep to have a plug put in. When he was done, I looked at the wheel and saw a huge “Taco” in the rim. “Um,” I said, “That wasn't there before.” He fought the good fight on behalf of BoP and I finally just said, “Fuck it,” because I was tired of arguing with him. At least he didn't charge for the plug. I took the wheel back home and mounted it back on the car. It was still holding air this morning so I guess we’re OK for the time being. I did send John an e-mail asking what Euro-stylee wheels we’re going to put on there next. He found some BBS style things but I can't afford them just yet. We’ll see. Well, it is 1535 h and I'm actually surprised I'm still at work. I need to go renew the license on Ms. Clio and Fifi so I think I'm going to cut out and go to the courthouse. Perhaps I'll have something to say tomorrow.
