I hate Tuesday. I've mentioned it before, but Tuesday is the worst day of the week. I'm not going into it again. Tuesday sucks. So, what can I talk about? I did stop by Blood Bath & Beyond after work last night. The store is completely out of .380 ACP ammo, but I still think I want a Kel-Tec P3AT. I played with one for a bit and they are considerably smaller than I remembered. I thought I remembered getting two fingers on the grip with just my pinky hanging off the bottom. Oh no, the ring finger just barely scrapes the bottom of the grip. I would need, absolutely without question, the grip extension for the magazine in order to hold onto this guy when it goes off. Of course today, while I'm broke, I can talk myself out of buying it by saying, “Hey dumb ass, you don't need it nor can you afford it!” We’ll see how well that resolve holds up Friday when I'm “Nigga Rich” with a fresh paycheck in the bank. What I ought to do is see if I can hold the money for it for two weeks until the first of February check arrives. Then I'll know I can afford to buy it. Pshyeah, like that is going to happen! We all know my dumb ass is probably going to wind up buying one right after work on Friday. Hang on, I need to go make a spreadsheet right quick. It looks like I can get out of there for under $350.00 with a new gun, the super-awesome belt clip, two magazine extensions, and a box of ammo. Yes, I know I said the store was out of .380 ACP ammo, the catalog desk still has some DRT ammo in stock. Of course they’ll be out by Friday, but we’re not going to think about that. I'm not sure about the DRT ammo though. The reviews on line seem to indicate that the primers aren’t reliable. Some of the reviewers were getting something like 19 out of 50 rounds not firing! That ain't no good. On the other hand, the guys who got all of them to fire, and were shoosting them into soft targets like watermelons and milk jugs, say that the frangible bullets are devastating. Oh, did I not mention that DRT ammo is a compressed powdered metal slug with a copper cladding which breaks up into a cloud of destruction when it hits? Ricochet schmicochet! Through shot schmoo shot! If you don't go down, at least you will know you’ve been hit with something nasty and shouldn't be looking forward to the follow up shot. I saw a funny quote while researching .380 ACP stopping power, by the way. Some website, I don't remember where, was talking about all the different calibers for self defense. Under .25 caliber it said, “Do not ever carry a .25 caliber gun. If you do, do not ever load it. If you load it, you might shoot it. If you shoot it, you might hit someone. If you hit someone, and they find out about it, they might get mad at you.” Well, I see by the old clock on the wall that I'm just about out of time for today. I think I'll head for the house.
