I don't really have anything new to report today. Pat called just as I was about to kick off my shoes last night and asked if I had dinner plans. I didn't so we agreed that he would swing by and pick me up. We went to Wasabi Sushi and had some bait. Ugh, I ate way too much, as I'm wont to do, and spent too much money. I am a sucker for the bait though. So, now I'm here at work, gut all stretched out from overeating last night, feeling like I'm starving to death. It is 1145 h so lunch will be coming soon. So, I guess speculation as to what we’ll accomplish over the weekend is next. John is supposed to pick me up in the morning, he still has Fifi from his move, then we’ll go to the shop. I think, at least I hope, the plan is to get the engine in The Seven. I suppose it is possible that we could have it running, but I seriously doubt that. I think I'll suggest we just get the “two man,” or at least the two of us, job done so I can finish at my leisure. Or something like that. I'm still of two minds about the shifting of the switch gear from the console to the dash. I mean, it makes more sense having it up on the dash, but I'm very lazy. Headlights, high beams, hazards, and horn. Those are the switches which would get moved. Of course the headlight switch would remain an old Datsun pull switch, unless I wired the lights to run all the time off of the ignition. Daytime running lights, as it were. No, I'd have to rewire way too much stuff to make that work. Never mind. So, like I said, the headlight switch would be a pull knob thingy. The high beam and hazard switches are both toggles right now but the horn is a push button. Feh! I was thinking I'd change the horn button to a matching toggle but I don't think I will after all. Woah! I have got to go pee! I think I'll have lunch too while I'm gone. OK, so where was I? Right, I think I will, probably, move the switches, maybe, up from the console, perhaps, sometime after we wet the engine in. Well, John just called to remind me that I also have to try and weld Jeff’s zorst manifold tomorrow. Something in the back of my mind is telling me that it won't work. I seem to remember Marty Mary warning me about welding cracks in cast iron manifolds. It will probably crack again in the future. I'll give it a bash and see what we can see, but I'm not going to charge him any money for the job. Hey, did you know that Canadian quarters are magnetic? Yeah, I got one in change the other day and it is constantly getting stuck to the magnet in my Blackberry case. It is stuck there now. Interesting? Probably not. OK, y'all are failing to keep me entertained. I think I might just have to call it a rant for the day.
