Woo hoo! My tactical stock and pistol grip for the Saiga arrived yesterday! I was going to wait until Saturday at the shop to install it but then just couldn't. I pried the old stock off and inserted the new one. Dude, it is so cool! I had to go search the garage for a drill motor. I found one, which has a keyless chuck so I think it might get moved to the shop, and drilled the three holes for the screws. I screwed the thing on and then scrounged up a socket and ratchet to attach the grip. Once the whole shebang was on, I popped a magazine in and had a look at it. Awesome! Oh, if this thing isn't the epitome of “Evil Black Gun” then I don't know what is. As a bonus, it should now fit in the Ruger 10/22 soft case perfectly. Oh, it is going to the shop with me tomorrow because I plan to go shoost it somewhere, somehow after we play with cars. Speaking of cars, I'm still debating with myself about the “Orca” paint scheme for The Seven. You know, painting the nose, bonnet, scuttle, and wings black and leaving just the sides of the car bare aluminum. I think it will work. I mean, it is basically the same as the paint on a Stalker, Ultralite S2K, or Locost, basically any Seven type vehicle with a composite scuttle and/or combined scuttle/bonnet. Hmm, having said that I'm not so sure it is such a good idea after all. I'm sure this is not a good weekend for painting anyway either. OK, so I might have just talked myself out of the “Orca” scheme. I'll still talk it over with John before condemning it totally. Ooh, I just felt something akin to excitement about my car again! I actually think I might be looking forward to going to the shop to work on it tomorrow. Does that mean something is going to come up to prevent it? Probably. Well, we’ll see. Feh, I guess I don't have anything else to say so I'll just call it a week. Yeah, that’s what I'm going to do. Toodles.
