2/3/10

John pointed something out to me yesterday. He noted that we’re approaching four years of rants on Blogspot. Actually, that is four years on the current iteration of Blogspot. We actually started on Blogspot in June of 2005! In June I will have been ranting here for five years! I've gone back and re-read some of the earlier posts. I'm almost ashamed to see that many of the projects I was “working on” back then have never been finished. In fact, The Seven is the... no, I'm not going there. Anyhoo, if y'all want to see the old stuff, I'm sure there is a way to find it. Hmm, how would Juan go about doing that? Oh, look! Right there on the left hand side of this very rant, unless you are reading this on my laptop, are the links to older posts. To get to the stuff before March 2006, go to the end of the March 2006 rant and click on the “view earlier posts here” link. Of course if Spiderman wanted to, but I'm not asking him to, he could, at his convenience, if he wants, but I don't care either way, make that quote up there an actual link to the older posts. See, for me it seems like it would be a total ass-whip to make that link, so I wouldn't bother. It might not be an ass-whip, at which point Spiderman might do it. Like I said though, I don't care either way. It’s not like anyone reads this stupid thing anyway. And there is the difference between me and most other bloggers, I couldn't give two shits whether or not I'm being read. I might give one shit now and then, but two? Out of the question. Well, I've been talking to some folks around the railroad and we’re all of the mind that we should be stocking up on ammo for the coming apocalypse on John's 40th birthday, 12/21/2012. Of course some of the same people saying that, are also saying they’d rather be at ground zero for the thing and get it over with. I had to agree, actually. Back in the eighties, when the specter of nucular (or is it nuculer?) annihilation was constantly over our heads, I always said I'd be headed straight towards the fence at the Air Force Base so I'd be vaporized in the first strike. I said so to those same folks. I went on to say that I'd probably be one of the “Brain munching zombies” as well. I feel it is good to have a plan in mind. For instance, whenever anyone asks what my plans for the future are, I usually tell them “Well, I plan to spend the vast majority of it... dead.” OK, I just got called away and totally lost my train of thought. I just re-read and I think I was going to go with this tack. Having said all of that, about being the first to go and/or one of the zombies, I'll probably start stocking up on ammo. I think I'll start buying fifty or 100 rounds of 9mm, and/or .45 ACP hollow points every month or two until I've got... what, 1,000... 2,000 of each? That ought to suffice. Probably ought to get some more .410 shotgun shells, .45 Colt, and .380 ACP rounds as well. Of course if (aw, who am I kidding? when) I buy an AK, I'll “need” a couple thousand rounds of 7.62x39 ammo for it. Fortunately, that comes in nice sealed “sardine tins” from Russian military surplus. Not to mention, it is almost as cheap as 9mm ammo. Almost as cheap as 9mm ammo? I told you not to mention it is almost as cheap as 9mm ammo! Anyhoo, they’re both as cheap as that old joke. Well, feh. I think I've rambled on long enough for today. If I think of something later, perhaps I'll come back. No, probably not, now that I think about it. Have a day.
