OK, so I've been thinking about the cars and shop situation. I have a drawing of a shop that I think will suit my needs pretty well, now and in the future. In it I have room for all of the cars (including the trailer) that I had planned to take with me to Boyd, plus a space for John to build Timmy (his 1200). The only problem I can foresee is having them all parked around the house. They would be mostly invisible from the two streets, but the neighbor behind will be looking down on any parked on the back patio area. Fortunately there are a bunch of trees and things growing between our yard and theirs so it might not be an issue. I think a little more privacy hedge would solve the problem. Of course thinning the herd some more would help too, which brings me to the newest possible plan of attack. Of course I'm going to need a daily driver, right? For now that is Ms. Clio. One. I might talk a big game about selling it sometimes, but I can never sell The Seven. Two. Everyone needs a truck in their family so Fifi is a keeper. Three. If ever I want to attend another remote event with The Seven I'll need a trailer. Four. If I don't have at least one Datsun 1200 in my fleet, the engine in The Seven doesn't really make sense. OK, that IS a lame justification, I see that now. However, I am a 1200 guy at heart and the Chickenhawk is just too dear to me, that one comes with me. Five. Those, I feel are the absolute, bare minimum car-sized items I WILL be keeping. Now we move into the gray areas. George. I paid five dollars for George. I've got a bunch of money tied up in the engine in it now, but that’s beside the point. I paid FIVE DOLLARS for the car initially. I want to keep it. Six. Nadine. That car is a real pickle. It ort to be really cool when I'm “done” with it. It should be a lot of fun to drive. I feel obligated to the lady at the church to hang on to it. I guess, for now, it will be considered a keeper. Seven. Roku Hyaku, the Honduh N600. While it would be a fun little runabout, especially with the more modern four cylinder in the back driving the rear wheels, I really don't need it. We'll call it a maybe and go ahead and count it for now. Eight. The Spitfire. Now that was... I was going to say a mistake, but I've only got a hundred bucks in it right now so it’s not like the Cobra or the Pimpmobile or anything. I think it would come together pretty quickly and easily with a Datsun engine and be a fun little hoon car. I'll probably plan to “flip” it by making it a driver and then selling it. Of course that depends on when it becomes the main project. It can't cut in line ahead of Nadine, I have to get that one done right after Lil' Wiggly. But does it sit while we finish George? I don't know. For now I'm going to have to count it I guess. Nine. Then there’s Lil' Wiggly. Why have I left Lil' Wiggly for last? Well, this one is actually kind of easy. Right now, I think I'm going to plan to hang on to Lil' Wiggly until a have a 1200 up and running. Then it could, and probably should, no, it WILL go up for sale. Super Karate-Monkey Death Car, Herman, and all the other derelicts out back will be history as soon as I can finger out a way to make them go away. If I can go through with it, that will get me down to a reasonable, relatively speaking of course, number of cars to bring to the house. So, that’s kind of what I have in mind for the near future. We'll see how it actually pans out.
